hi friends.when i first saw the pitch before the start of the match,it almost made me puke.
at first look,it gave the impression that it going to come off in the first 10 minutes into the match.
but by the end of the day,i wished it should have come off.
the curator did say it is a bowler friendly pitch.
may be he didnt count the first day of the test match.
do we get to see a good test match atleast this time?
will sachin tendulkar cross the 13000 run mark?
or will the pitch is hiding some bigger surprises for the rest of the match?
but one thing is very much clear.
the srilankans wont be winning any test match this time either

This is a true Kanpur pitch. The first 3 days it is a batsmen's paradise. The pitch starts taking turn after team on the 3rd day and starts keeping low in the last 4 sessions. So ideally India should bat out whole of tomorrow as well and try and bowl out Sri Lanka twice in 3 days. I doubt it looks like another Motera on the cards.
Cheers!

I don't know about the series but from the position India is in now I dont see victory coming anywhere near Srilanka. BUt the pitch is not as docile as it seems. remember they dropped Sehweg very early in the innings and that has cost them dearly. Sehwag is one player you should not miss an opportunity to get him out. If he were out early and Dravid started off slow as usual then the pressure would have been on India. And weallknow once Sehwag gets going the pitch doesnt matter. He can make a mockery of the bowling attack even on a condusive pitch when he is on song. And that is what we witnessed today.
Agreed there were no demons in the pitch but this is no England where you expect the first day pitch to be a paradise for the swing bowlers. The story is no different from what it is here when you visit Srilanka. I dont see any of their pitches assisting Bowlers from day 1.
I believe on pitches where the assitance for the bowlers is less the wuality of fielding is what makes the difference. Lets hope Indians do not drop any like the Lankans did.
