Do you think chatting online with friends is nothing but wasting your time ?

I use to chat with my friends via gtalk. Whenever I get my friends online, I use to ping them and start chatting. If I find my closest friends online then nothing can stop me. I use to spend more than 2-3 hours a day only chatting with my friends. I don't get much time to hang out with old friends so I get them in the net. I don't think this is wasting time but sometimes I left my urgebt work for chatting which I understand after finishing chatting or after several hours. What do all of you think ? Is yjis wasting of time or normal thing ?

Sometimes. Especially if your topic are just out of nowhere. But I enjoy chatting with friends. They can help when you are stressed especiallywhen you can't go out and talk to them personally. What I do is just send that through instant messaging.

Chatting with your friends is never a waste of time. When and where you chat, now that's one thing. If you are in your work or in your office and instead of finishing your job, you are chatting with a friend, then that I believe is wasting "work" time. You can chat in the evening, or anytime in your free time. But not when you have work, or in a meeting, with a client, or in front of your boss.
