How do you define A Win?

In life what do you define as a win? I was recently watching the news, and they were asking how do you define a Win for a war? In war, there are casualties, tragedies, and destruction on all sides... is a true win even possible? Is it possible to win strategically at something but fail at the ultimate goal? Life often throws you curves...you may often find yourself redefining your goals as you learn more about your task. In school, I would set out to study hard and ace a class...Often, this would turn into setting smaller goals, or stepping stones. In the end, even if I didn't get 100% I would feel like I did the best I could, and therefore won. Do you think this is a true win? Or is it simply settling?

win, winning is just like success, for me success will be define as when you feel you have reached your goal, mission or vision. When you feel contented of what you are doing. Even though how many businesses you have win in your life yet you still not contented, then your a loser. So now, if you refer wining in a war, i can say it depends. Why? because in war, a soldier can say he wins because he was happy, because he finished his missions even though it costs his life. Yet that soldier wins.

I don't think anyone can win a war, because so many people lose. People lose friends and husbands and fathers. Thousands of men are now murderers. It's terrible. I define a win as getting what you want. Even when I lose , I win. This is because I still manage to get something out of the situation, even if it isn't the big prize that I was first after.
