Would you ever adopt a child?

Make sure you read that, I said CHILD. Not baby. So, there are so many kids that need homes for whatever reason. Many couples always want to adopt babies, which is great they need homes too, but (and don't think me callous) this is like people who like dogs and want a new one but only want a puppy. There are so many dogs in the pound but people only want puppies. There are plenty of kids who need love but most people only want to adopt a baby. I for one really want to adopt a child or at the least foster a child. I want to have biological children too, but I at least want to adopt one child. Any race, age not really a factor. Just a child who needs a home and someone who cares about them and somewhere they know they are safe and loved. I know there is a lot of work involved with adopting a child which if I am going to I will be ready for and would want to find a child who wants to be a part of my family and who feels a connection to us and us to them. I know people want kids of their own, but you can have your own kids and also adopt a child too, they would be your child. Adoption isn't just for people who can't have kids. You could change a child's life and give them love and care. So, would you consider adopting a child?

Honestly, I would rather adopt a child than have one. It breaks my heart to see how many kids there are that don't have families. Childhood is the most important time of a persons' life. I may be a little biased, because my mother had many kids and she didn't treat us very well. I really want to give back in any way that I can and make sure other people have better lives than I did.
