I am very thankful I never got married! I'm grateful not ever buying a house! Grateful I never had anymore children! Very grateful I never had to go back to school! Grateful for never having to move bck home! Grateful I never had to sell my horse in tough times! These are the things I really am grateful for!

That is a nice way of looking at things. I too have several that come under that category but one in particular is that I am thankful that many have drifted from me. Just as well. I have a retired home and imagine if all my family were in loving terms with me - my extended family is quite large - staying with me as guests which would mean that I would be entertaining 365 days of my life!!!

Ahhh, that is a good reason for me to be happy about my family deciding that I am too evil to talk to ever again. Basically, they decided that I was wasting my time in college and being a writer. I was upset for awhile. But considering that I hate people staying in my house, maybe it is better this way. Thanks for the thought.

Thanks for the response! The only person in my family I'm not on the greatest of times is my dad. Long story! I know how you feel!

I am also thankful I never married, or had kids. I am thankful that after I moved out I never had to move back.
There are a lot of things I'm thankful that have not happened, I've never been homeless, never had a tooth pulled (well besides those pesky wisdom ones) or lost a brother or sister (not like I've got any to spare, since I only have one of each.)

I am grateful that I did not marry any of the women that made me crazy, or who were crazy (perhaps both at once). I am grateful that I did not have any kids. I am grateful that I did not accept that job transfer (it gave me a chance to go to college). And I am grateful that I do not listen to my family's opinions about what I should do with my life (according to them, I am in the wrong career and religion).

My dad always nags to me that I should belong to a church! He thinks because I don't belong to a church I don't believe in God! Far from the truth! That is another thing I'm grateful never happened! My dad is a pain, most of the time! thanks for the response!
