Things I am thankful for that I never did!

That is a nice way of looking at things. I too have several that come under that category but one in particular is that I am thankful that many have drifted from me. Just as well. I have a retired home and imagine if all my family were in loving terms with me - my extended family is quite large - staying with me as guests which would mean that I would be entertaining 365 days of my life!!!

I am also thankful I never married, or had kids. I am thankful that after I moved out I never had to move back. There are a lot of things I'm thankful that have not happened, I've never been homeless, never had a tooth pulled (well besides those pesky wisdom ones) or lost a brother or sister (not like I've got any to spare, since I only have one of each.)

I am grateful that I did not marry any of the women that made me crazy, or who were crazy (perhaps both at once). I am grateful that I did not have any kids. I am grateful that I did not accept that job transfer (it gave me a chance to go to college). And I am grateful that I do not listen to my family's opinions about what I should do with my life (according to them, I am in the wrong career and religion).
