What are good tips for people who need to beat the holiday blues? Lots of people may be having tough times this year so how can we cheer up those who need it?

How about a random act of kindness.....know someone who can't afford gifts...how about a nicely wrapped package of candy bars.....or something simple like that...just something to make them smile...

The easiest way to beat the holiday blues is to remember why we are celebrating--it's the birthday of Jesus, the greatest gift ever given. Remember that it's not about giving and receiving presents but about love, friendship, hope and encouragement. Society is too focused on material things, it's no wonder people get the blues around Christmas. If you have the blues, try designing then baking and decorating a Birthday cake. It's fun and very appropriate, I've made it a family tradition and my sons used to have such fun helping me. Sing the birthday song, too, and light a candle on the cake so you can make a wish.
