Would you prefer a desktop computer to a laptop computer for your home use?

I will always favour the desktop over the laptop! I like the fact that you can do a lot of things with a desktop in terms of upgrades! With a laptop you are limited in what you can do! The only good thing about a laptop is the fact that it's light and you can take it wherever you go. I like delving inside my desktop computer and I have plans to upgrade my memory. Laptops are nice to look at but not that good when it comes to upgrading them. It's best to just have a warranty and then an extended warranty on a laptop. With a desktop I'm not that bothered about a warranty as I do everything myself in terms of maintenance and so forth. Andrew

I would prefer a desktop computer. I play a lot of games and I have trouble with playing on the laptop. On the desktop it is so much more easier. I will chooose desktop computer over laptops anyday.

I prefer a laptop, since I can bring it anywhere in my house and be comfortable, but desktop computers are much better when it comes to performance, since they have much more hardware customization. Currently, I got a laptop running Windows XP, and a desktop running Ubuntu. It used to be dual booting Windows XP as well, but the Windows OS corrupted on me, so I've only got my laptop for Windows. But yea, I'd rather a laptop booting Windows XP :P

I have a laptop at home. I absolutely love it. I can watch tv in my bed and be on the internet. I can take my computer out on the balcony if I want to.

Delstop computer mainly because i can assemble it easily... laptop computer parts must be ordered from other countries and i hate taxes. =)

Obviously a desktop. Althought a desktop can't be moved around every 2 seconds, they have more memory, more space, and usually better performance. However, you can take a laptop anywhere, and use it anywhere that you can get a connection. Laptops are also small, which makes it more convenient.

In my opinion I love to use Laptops. I've used desktops before, but in the long run I've found Laptops to be more convenant. I'm not restricted to one spot, one position, and that's important for my over all health. The only downside to them is I can't turn off the monitor so I'm stuck looking at something. That's why if it becomes overwelming I simply close the lid and move someplace else. For me flexibility is key.

I would prefer, and am currently using, a desktop computer. I know you can't carry them out and use them in a coffee shop and all that. But desktop computers usually have a lot of memory and they are usually expandable. I own a laptop myself but I barely use it to be honest with you. And not that I go out and bring it somewhere else too, now that I mention it.
