Iam a undergraduate student in China. After graduate I want to futher my graduate studying in USA, so like all the students who want to go abroad for studying I took part in the TOEFL iBT and GRE test. When I was preparing my GRE test I was exhausted and almost everyday I took 18hours to study it. You know, GRE containing lots of word that I was unfamiliar with, about 13000 words. I really work hard 100% and when I took the examination, I feel not bad and thought that I could have a good result. However, just at tomorrow, when I get my socre report I was totally shocked, only 980+3.0. That was really a low sore. This score means that I cannot go to American in 2010, if I really want to go there I need to take the GRE test again and fight for the 1300+4.0 that was really a challenge for me. Although my friends and my parents tell me if I really work hard 100% there will be no rremose, no one know this socre was totally deny me and tell me that I am really a idiot. Itis really a hurt for me.

Just don't be discouraged, I know as others were able to do it, you can do it also..Just be patient and do not pressure yourself,, study but take time to relax so that you will not be exhausted and drain yourself....
Take it as a challenge for you and try again, don't ever quit, just continue to do hardwork and I know you will still commit whatever you want in your life!

Hello fafnierchan.Cheer up! I am also from China, so I can deeply understand your feeling,really a little difficult when suffer from failure even though you have word hard 100%. But I think you are a smart and you have gotten experience in it,so you are going to pass the exam next time. Besides,I think you are lucky,because not every one in China have the chance to study abroad.

hi fafnirchan you are not useless.quit telling yourself that.Your writing in your discussion is lucid,intelligent and well thought out which means you are a lot smarter than you think you are. could you get a friend who is up on the material you need to know to tutor you so you can get a much higher score? also you are not an idiot.you are young and you show great determination to do better and you will believe me.you will succeed.I have not met you but just now but reading your discussion I see you are well educated. You need to learn those words you are not familiar with and maybe get someones help who has passed this test.do all this then let us know how you did.

Don't be so hard on yourself. I think you did your best. Maybe, you expected too much from yourself, and when that expectation didn't happen, you start to blame yourself. Getting a TOEFL, GRE or CPE exam need a tremendous preparation. Not only a month away from the scheduled test, but at least you should have prepared for one year. There's plenty of review centers that offer this kind of service and they do this for 6 months to one year. The important thing is you should immerse yourself, or make yourself very familiar with the style of exams so you'll be very prepared next time. Yes, there is always a next time and don't be disheartened. So, good luck again!
