so i was reading online that a mcdonalds in my local area isnt allowed to put up a Christmas tree this year do due the fact people of a different religion are insulted by it...now my personal beliefs is...if you dont like it don't look at it..ive read that during the holiday Christmas is a bigger majority then all the others out there...so i believe if someone of a different religion has a problem with resteraunts and stores putting up decorations then they shouldnt look at it or not shop or eat at those places..it ruins the spirit of the holidays for everyone eles....anyone agree? disagree?

That's the way I look at it! If you come to my house, you follow my rules, and do as I do, if you don't like it, you are free to leave! If you want to follow your traditions, go back to your own country, and follow them there! This country here was started by Christians , and it has been so for a long time, and we will put up a long fight to keep it that way! And I'm saying it in the most polite way I can, because there are some of us out here that will tell you in a not so nice way!

Well I would not say "...go back to your own country" because none of us here are from this country, nor you nor anyone UNLESS you're American Indian, and we all know this was was was their country untill it was ripped away from them and then other races spread along the country. Regardless of how many or how long ago people like you or me have been here, we are still not from this country. You might have an Irish background or British or something that's where our grandparents or whom ever came from before they took over. My dad is white American and ya he says I'm an american BUT is he?? he was born here ya but before white men came, Native American Indian were here...THEY are the ones who I call americans, as for the rest, WE ALL COME FROM DIFFERENT PLACES OUR THE WORLD. Irland, England and so forth...That's how I see it. As far as the holiday decoration, I do agree that I would not change my house rules or in change my self in public because someone has different faith, although since I am a reasonable person and understanding man, I could acomodate it if the person deserves it...

I agree with you it really ruins the spirit of the holidays. For goodness sake everyone should be allowed to practice thier religions without any interverance. It is very unfair and in todays world, it is unacceptable. This is a terrible form of religious discrimination and it should not be accepted.

Christmas trees have nothing to do with Christianity or the birth of Christ, in fact their origins are pagan. Many Christians are offended by Christmas Trees.

I agree that it's stupid, Christians should be more worried about the farmers that McDonalds are exploiting for cheap labor.

I must be meeting all the good Christians then. I have met dozens that do not practice having a Christmas tree, but never once has any of them been "offended" by those that do, let alone start crying about a McDonalds putting one up. That's just stupid.

Everybody wants to rule the world!!! God grants us all total freedom to choose. Why can't we do the same for each other? Put any decorations for any holiday anywhere you want, whenever you want. I'll still come in your store or restaurant. Why should I want to hate anyone who wants to celebrate?????? Let's demand everyone gets their freedom before none of us will have any. Let's learn from God and give it freely with love and kindness!!!!

Yes. This anti-Christian intolerance is garbage. So called open minded people, should follow their own spouted views and be tolerant of free expression of religion... you know... what the country was built on?

People today are more religious than before. Whether there is a decoration or not many are enjoying the holiday season. It is not religion that is opposing but the people whose beliefs is that there is no God.

Anybody that is offended by a Christmas tree is trying a little too hard to be offended. The tree itself has nothing to do with Christmas or Christianity, it is just a tree - and we only have it because one was given as a gift by Germany to the Royal Family in the UK back in history (I think I am right on this...). In the UK, people happily put up decorations for Divali and I am sure others could celebrate Yom Kippur or whatever they liked and should not really have to worry about causing offence. If you are genuinely offended by someone else's faith, you are more or less declaring yourself to be a racist at worst, tribalistic at best (ignorant either way...) Note: race (according to racial discrimination laws)can be defined by a common faith combined with common geographical origins along with other factors.

I wonder which religion has objected to put a Christmas tree. This is really silly and these things must not be tolerated. I am a Hindu, at the same time, I will not object to any other religion having their own celebrations. The fact is, I really love all the festivals, whether it is of Christians or Hindus. I may not celeberate Christmas, but I certainly love to look at the decorations, and at times, I have even taken a photograph with Santa Claus with my children.

the only religion I have ever heard of being offended by a Christmas tree are Christians. at one point, they banned them. too Pagan apparently. I can't see any other religion finding a decorated tree, with lights to call back the light of the sun around the time of the winter solstice offensive.

What is this religion that is complaining about a Christmas tree? We have been decorating trees at Christmas since the 1850's. Other countries have been doing it even longer than that. We have religious freedom. If McDonald's wants a Christmas tree, they should continue the tradition and remind those complaining customers of the rights we enjoy and that they have the right to eat somewhere else.

if you dont like it don't look at it - that is a good statement. I do not think that there is anything wrong in putting up signs. If it was loud songs or such then its understandable that it disturbs ones peace. The other fact is shops just put up such decorations to get more sales.

yeah..which is ridiculous people go out of their way just to complain about something that shouldn't even bother them..Christmas is one of the most if not the most celebrated holiday ever..so people need to suck it up and deal with it lol

Its really hurts when two different religons fight with each other in name of God. They are blind believers, they actually don't know what God is? Above all we are human beings and if we can not respect the greatest creation of God then how we can claim that we are from such religon. People those who fight in name of God are not worth to be called as human being. So, you should respect all religons and their festivals.
