What's wrong with my connection?

This is like the 3rd or 4th time this has happened to us. When it rains or is damp more than a day or two it seems like our DSL just goes kaput. But when someone calls my phone crackles the first few minutes and like a miracle it stops and after a few more minutes on the landline my DSL is working again. I'm wondering if someone knows if it's something on my end or if it's something on the ISP's end???? I do have pretty old connections to my house wich I wonder could be the problem or ??? I know last year they had to put us on another circut / line or whatever because we had no phone at all, no internet nothing for a few days. Wich I guess in a way was nice I actually wasn't distracted by the net or phone and did some stuff. Anywho any ideas? I"m hoping it's something on their end rather than calling and finding out we did it & they charge us for a service call ya know?!?!

That was a problem of most Internet Service Providers. We're also having problems like that sometimes. That was the reason why we've shifted to another ISP. And now on, there's no problem at all. Try to subscribe in other ISP separate with your landline. I hope this tip could help.

it's most likely on the provider's end. i had DSL a long time ago (which eventually fried my motherboard)and had nothing but grief. be careful if you call them tho-when my board fried,i had the game of the ISP and the phone service pointing fingers back and forth about who's fault it was. one of them threw a surge, that's all i know.

Hello 3SnuggleBunnies this is checkmail and most of the time there are various pro in the landline phones, especially during the rainy season. But you can opt out for an wireless broadband internet service, which is not landline but from mobile technology.Think it will be useful to you, not much pro except the traffic on internet.Yeah the service charges are monthly according to our surfing, but you won't suffer connection pro anymore.

Who do you have the DSL with? Depending on the provider the problem may be real simple to fix. First of all did your internet supplies come with filters for all the phone lines? If so, make sure each phone that is connected to a jack has the right filter attached. Be sure all phone plugs and lines are not lose or broken. This can cause a disruption in service. Also, when was your eletrical systems and inner phone connections checked? If the answer is never, or more then ten years ago, have some come out and elevauate the connections going from your box to your phones. Its part of the reason I don't have DSL anymore, that and I can't afford a land line. Good luck.
