Do you always pray before eating ? i still remember that we were in our childhood age, our parents use to serve us food and then always use to ask us to pray first. we use to close our eyes and then open one eye in between and us to see if everyone is praying or not and then giggle in between. we were most of the time been scolded by our grandmother for this but we were very naughty and mischieveous. my brother use to taste something or the other when everyone use to pray lol, and my grandmom use to shout on him. he never listened. now i try our baby to pray and then remember what we use to do, and feel that ever child i think in a certain age behaves in a same manner.

Haha, I use to do that too! When I was younger, during prayers, I would start thinking of random things in my head and pretend as if I was praying because I never really understood the meaning of it. Sometimes I would sneak a peak at everyone and look at what they do while everyone has their eyes closed. But as I got older, I started to realize how important prayer has become and so I pray before I eat on my own without my parents ever telling me to. Now they tell my little brother to pray =P

For Indians its a great ritual to always pray before we start eating to pay our greetings to GOD that he has given us this opportunity to eat and prayers that we should also have our stomach filled in future.OM NAMAH SHIVAY!!!!!!

Yes i always pray and after eating. I thanks god for the blessing and ask that may this food nourish me and give me strength. I even ask for god's blessings to those who prepare the food and those who make it possible for us to enjoy our food like the farmers, fishermen, etc. i feel good after. I've been doing this since i was a kid, the moment that i learned how to pray and appreciate the importance of prayer i did not from doing this even up this time that i already have my own family. My kids are also doing this and take turns in leading the meal prayer.

I never pray at meals. My family nor I are very religious. We are thankful for our meals and whatnot, we just don't show it through prayer.
