What do you do when you are depressed?

I don't know if it is depression or what not. I feel like I have been in a rut lately. Work just ended and I am clearing my leave but somehow, I find myself waking up late , ordering mcdonalds, sitting in front of the TV and comp. Itz been like this for 4 days now. I havent left my house. The very thought of leavin the house makes me feel very lazy to put on some clothes. Even to buy food, Id rather just order in. Its even more depressing to see that I got no missed calls on my hp...lol and I find myself getting into strange random thoughts. Have I officially gotten into a rut?

Hi. I would like to think that you're just bored right now. I hope that you're not really depressed. When I'm bored, I normally read self-help books and watch funny movies. These activities help a lot in relieving the boredom or stress, if such is the case. By the way, do you like reading books? If yes, I would like to recommend that you read "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrnes. This is a good book to read whenever you have problems, depressed or bored.

Yes I think I am bored. Cos I have been busy with work lately and suddenly, there i nothing to do! I am doin a part-time degree in Lit so reading is the last thing I wanna do since exams are over. I do enjoy watching movies too but even that has lost its appeal on me these days. Im just lookin for somethin different to do I guess, a change in environment...but now I cant even afford a holiday thanks to the payment I have to make for my next term in uni. lol Thanks for your reply though. :)

Oh I see. In that case, maybe you are correct - you just need a new environment. Try to reconnect with your friends and hang out with them. What you are going through is perfectly normal. I hope everything gets ok very soon.

Hi d_e_v81,Yes there were times that we feel depress due to some problems or tiredness.My first thing to do is to Pray to our God,asking his guidance,then take a deep breath enhale and exhale.Try to watch comedy films so that i can laugh...Thanks,God Bless!

Thanks Hazelrose! yes! I like watching comedies too. Sometimes I only realise im depressed when I channel surf, come across a comedy and really laugh at scenes that are not even that funny. haha

Being bored or depressed is a sign of tiredness. Atimes depression comes after continuous efforts that resulted in failure. Depression is the gateway to success.

I go to a place quite with a very good scenery where in I can enjoy the quietness that surrounds me & I can get to think & appreciate the beauty of nature. All of a sudden my depression will just diminish & everything will be back to normal.

This topic is really awesome and most of us will have certainly different opinion and solution about it.For person like me depression is a silent killer which keep on pushing us down and stay robust in your approach to life. So keep yourself away from depression and the simple way out is to engage yourself in the activity you like most and that can bring happiness to you. Have a good day!

LOL yes I think you have gone into a mental rut so better get up and get going… But seriously, whenever you feel depressed, feeling lazy and eating good food and doing nothing is a great stress reliever. I too don’t like to do anything when I am depressed…and eating good food always perks me up. Good music is wonderful too!

Haha! I go online too...usually to facebook or mylot. Currently in a rut so am in front of my comp promptly replying to messages for discussions I have started. haha

Hey, I do that too! but sometimes Im just not in the mood to do anything. Ill be in front of my TV and not really paying attention to the programme. does that sound strange? lol

when i am in depress mood i used to sit alone . and taking smoking then think about all the thing which make me depress
