What I am thankful for... 1. For being a wife and mother that has to tell my family that its hot dogs again for supper tonight, because I would rather be home with them, than chasing a dream, or being with someone else. 2. For my husband, who is on the sofa, being a couch potato, because he is home with me instead of out smoking pot and hopping bars with his buddy's. 3. For my daughter who is in the kitchen, complaining that she has to help me wash dishes, because it means that she is home with me, instead of out on the streets getting into trouble. 4. For the huge mess I have to clean up, after having thanksgiving dinner at my house this year, because it means that I am surrounded by friends and people I love. 5. For the cloths that fit me just a little too tight, because it means that I still have enough to eat. 6. For the shadow that follows me throughout the day, because it means that I am still able to get out in the sunshine. 7. For the lawn that needs mowing, the windows that need cleaning, and the dishes that are stacked up in the sink, because that means that I still have a roof over my head. 8. For all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that I also have the freedom of speech, and the right to vote. 9. For the parking spot that I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means that I am still able to walk, and have been blessed with transportation of my own. 10. For the huge electricity bill that I have to pay, because it means that I still have lights and heat. 11. For the huge pile of laundry and ironing that still needs to be done, because it means that I still have cloths to wear. 12. For weariness and acheing muscles at the end of the day, because it means that I am still capable of working hard. 13. For the fact that I must wear glasses, because it means that I can still see. 14. For the crying of my neighbors new baby, that wakens me in the middle of the night, because it means that I can still hear. 15. For the tears of saddness that I cry, because it means that I can still feel. 16. For the pungent oders that linger in the city, because it means that I can still smell. 17. For the the car accident that almost took my life, and left me disabled, because it means that I have learned to appreciate what I do still have. 18. For the alarm clock that wakes me up too early in the morning, because it means that I am still alive. 19. For nosey, selfish, ignorant people, because it means that I still have an example of what not to do and be, and can set a good example for those who need it. 20. And last but not least, For my daughter being diagnosed with cancer, having a heart attack and even a stroke, because I have learned not to take a single moment for granted. Most of all I am thankful because I have become a lot closer to Godess, and that she still loves me, with all my faults and flaws. For each day that goes by, we all need to count our blessings, and if the trials seem to outweigh those blessings then we need to count again, because we are forgetting so many good things that that we all take for granted every day.
