I think our security system has improved a lot after the mumbai attack last year. Now there are NSG hubs in 4 major cities and modern weapons are provided to police as well. There hasnt been any terrorist attacks since 26/11, except in places where india shares border with pakistan.

Yes, physical security has improved vastly. But still intelligence needs to be beefed up. Not only that, we public should be more alert and bring any suspicious character to the notice of the Police.

No doubt our security has substantially improved after 26/11. Apart from additional NSG Hub, Advanced weapons and vehicles are being provided to Army, Navy as well as Police and Paramilitary forces. Additional training is being provided in Disaster Management to various authorities. However, there is still a lack of co-ordination between different agencies. This needs to be improved to bolster our security even more. Let us hope that all concerned parties move in the right direction.

The simple fact is that it hasn't. We do have a perception that security has been beefed up, but the reality is that it has not been beefed up. Most of the steps being done are only at a very high level and people who really want to be malicious can continue with their activities. Till corruption is rooted out of our agencies nothing really can be done about this. Cheers! Ram
