Has anyone tried meditation. I was having a serious depression some weeks back. I was not able to think what should I do. It something very serious for my future. I couldn't think of anything properly. Nor I was able to concentrate in my work. So, at last, I decided to quit everything for sometime and learn to meditate. I left my job, I went somewhere without telling anyone. There in a yoga center, I learn yoga and meditation. Now, I am feeling the difference, I'm now more peaceful than ever. I can concentrate more, I can see clearly what i must do with my life and in my life. As per my opinion, meditation has helped my defining my life to myself. Has anybody experienced the effects meditation has offered. Let's share Happy mylotting

Hi Lastain, I'm a Buddhist so meditation is quite a popular thing in my faith. I know many people who meditate for hours on end and feel that it is of benefit for them. They say it relaxes them, has a profound impact on the issues that are going on in there life, in there ability to handle problems etc. But, I'm also studying Physical Therapy, and in terms of the body's physiology, the breathing that one does when they are mediating is probably what is accounting for these benefits. Now, I know that some people in the West think that it is not spiritual but rather what I have just said, but some people believe that this relaxation is a spiritual occurrence. I believe that it isn't so much a spiritual thing but a physiological thing, but when you meditate if your also praying well then the feelings that you have may well be a mix of physiological and spiritual.

yes, I agree with you. It's the breathing that makes the difference. I'm not a buddhist nor do I know much deep about this, but, I have experienced the difference after practising it. I has brought so much of peace in me. I am trying to learn more on it.
