Anyone ever stay in Cancun

We are planning a getaway for the end of January. We usually go to the Caribbean in the spring whether it's a cruise, or just visit an Island for a week. This year we must travel early due to family obligations, and are looking into Cancun staying at one of the Inclusive Hotels. I usually book online but I think I may use a travel agent for help though I think I can get it cheaper via the net. Also, do you think we should get travel insurance for this trip, and dose the travel insurance cover our rent a car or do we need to get auto insurance for the car rental. Any help is greatly appreciated.
