I know this discussion is about "life" however, I used to never get any of the (what I call) momentary insurance, like travel insurance, and medical insurance for the trip, or additional auto insurance for car rentals until recently. A friend of ours, and his wife just retired and celebrated by going to Mexico for a vacation. They arrived at the hotel, and their room wasn't ready so they decided to go out to the patio to enjoy the view and start their holiday. Well he slipped on a step, went down hard on his back, and that fast became paralyzed. They did not have travel medical insurance, so they had to pay for medical in Mexico, Medi-Jet for the trip back home, and many more expenses that might have been covered. So now I make sure that my wife, and I are covered to the max for anything I can think of when we go away. Do you think I'm being way too cautious, or am I right on the money?
