IPhone great phone even with out customization?

I have had my iPhone for about 5 months now and love it, but the no customization is really starting to upset me with the phone. I just wish the next time I recieve a message or a call I can listen to my own custom tone. What do you guys think? Is the lack of customization hurting the phone? Do you have and iPhone if so what do you think of it overall?
