For those who read Jane Austen at school or for leisure = what is your favourite book by Jane Austen. I have not read all for them but I used to like Pride and Prejudice the best but I started to read others and watch the adaptations. What is your favourite book and what ishe best film adaptation that you have seen? Which one do you recommend I read next? So far I have read emma, Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion!

I'm just starting to read Jane Austen's EMMA. Just wanna ask if you have read this novel. and if you have read it already, what are your feedbacks? Is it good?

Emma is a pretty good book I enjoyed it. Most of the comments I have on it pertain to the ending which I'll resevre so as not to ruin it.

Its kind of a toss up for me. I definitely appreciate Pride and Prejudice now but not when I was reading just because I had to read it for school which kinda took away from the pleasure aspect of reading for me. Since then the only other book I read by her is Emma which I very much enjoyed. I might go back and re read Pride and prejudice seeing as that seems to be the overwhelming consensus for people favorite here.

It was years before I read Pride and Prejudice I had only watch it and heard about it but I definitely enjoyed reading it.

Pride and Prejudice and Emma are my favorites. But sense and sensibility is good too.

Yes I like those two and I like the adaptation of Emma with Gweneth Paltrow. Is there a good adaptation of Sense & Sensibility I have not read the book yet but sometimes I like to watch them first to have a picture of the characters in my mind...lol

I really couldn't say which was my favorite. Although I haven't read all of her novels, the ones that I have read I've really enjoyed. I've been able to read Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, and Northanger Abbey. I've really enjoyed all of them.

The only one I have not read of those is Northanger Abbey ans Sense and Sensibility.

Hello, and welcome to MyLot. 'Pride and Prejudice' is my favourite Jane Austen novel, and I love the BBC Andrew Davies adaptation, starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. I recommend you read 'Northanger Abbey.' It's a real delight, and it's a satire on the early 19th century passion for Gothic novels. I love all of Jane Austen's novels, and I regularly revisit them. It's such a shame she only wrote 6.
