mylot population is surprisingly low for a site that pay you to discuss

If you compare mylot with a forum which discuss only a game like gtplanet, it is "miracle" that mylot only has such small number of populations (192.000). But, I think any member of gtplanet disccussing their game in mylot is dumb. Their new discussion will surely goes unanswered or unnoticed because of very cluttered discussion.

I think so far what I see here is very realistic compared to sites that offer more, and don't deliver. Those are scams. And the population count is decent compared to other places I've seen. Of course how many of thos are actually active. In the end it balances out.

Most of the mylot population is inactive. They mainly leave the site because they look for the wrong thing in the wrong place. They think that since there is no limit they can post a lot and earn accordingly. However, after posting in a hundred discussions or so, they realize that they have not even earned 1$ and they get bored and leave. Mylot is a 'get rick quick' site. It offers almost everything a social networking site offers. You can interact with others and have fun and also get something in return. Quality is more important than quantity and that is where the members suffer. They just look at this site as a means to earn.

Ok. I can not imagine what happen if there are 1000 more people online and all of them post a discussion of different think. Chances are most of them never get answered. Seeing the speed of discussion going down the drain, maybe 100 online at most currently.

That is the problem with someone who has just joined this community. In order to get responses, you need to have a larger base of responders. For that, you need to put your discussions in interests which have large number of members. But again, you cannot put a discussion related to games in an interest called 'People'. Another way of increasing your responders is by adding friends. The more the number of your friends, the more are the chances of your discussion getting responses. Try these things out. You will get responses.

Some things that I think have resulted in the low population here in mylot are these - 1. Lack of popularity. 2. Too many guidelines and rules. It is nice that mylot has them to keep its members in check. But for an outsider it is hard to understand. 3. Poor feedback from ex-members. I personally cannot bring my friends here because when I brought one of them here as my referral, he stayed here for a couple of months and then got bored and said so poorly of mylot that the others do not want to join. 4. The average age of active mylot members is around 35-40. That is quite high for a social networking site. Mainly the teenagers join forums and they are mostly interested in making money online. But because of the generation gap there is a problem with communication and understanding. That hampers mylot's reputation.

It took me some time to know the site. But once I got the hold of things I have started enjoying the site a lot. I have no problem with the way the site has been built and the way it functions. I was absent from this site once for 4 months and again for 3 months or so. But other than that I have been quite active and have enjoyed my stay. I love participating in discussions and helping other members.

Agree with point number 3. keeping whether people already respond my respond is hard. Adding interest is very tedious job. If mylot do not change currently cluttered topic to more organize manner like a forum, mylot would never improve.

I think that My Lot is still relatively new and is still in the process of growing and expanding. I think that the numbers will grow enormously given time. Still, it will be very interesting to see how it does grow and become more populated. Andrew

Do you happen to know where should I post if I have suggestion to mylot? Would mylot listen to their member? Mylot would never improve if they ignore their member opinion.
