What causes your stress?

Cleaning and maintaining the house is stressful to me. I just don't like knowing if there is a leak somewhere in the pipes or the tank or even the roof. Neither do I like seeing if the house needs repainting. I do not like going to the hardware buying bulbs nor electric tapes. Quite stressful to me. Then somebody said I must be thankful I am doing all that. Many others can't because they don't have houses to fix. Shame on me. But I really get stressed up when it comes to fixing things...

I became easily stressed when I learn people whom I trust saying bad things about me or making up stories about me. I get so hurt whenever I encounter back stabbing people and frequently think about it. The thought affects my work and everyday life. It irritates me to the max and moving on is very hard.

I get stressed out a lot over the smallest things. I get stressed out if I can't find something, because I'm the type of person that won't stop until I find it. Just recently, I had something happen and my kids were blamed for it. That really stressed me out and hurt me. House repairs is really stressful, because anything related to the home costs money. My biggest fear is something major happening and we don't have the money to have it fixed. It's true that I have a home to be stressed out, but it was easier when I lived in an apartment. Anything that went wrong, I just called the front office and it got fixed.

I practice meditation. There is a link on my profile page that explains this further. After a while of regular meditation, the mindfulness will naturally be extended into everyday tasks around the house, and the stress of doing jobs or having repairs done, take on a different meaning. - Derek

Well, i think stress is a part of our life already, especially nowadays. Stressful situation for me starts at three in the morning.I wake up at 3:30 in the morning and prepare food for breakfast and lunch. I should finish cooking at 4:30 because the school service will pick up my daughter at 5. Soon as she left, i will again prepare for the office but i will have to clean the house first. I have to leave the house at 5:30 to be able to arrive at the office before 8 o clock. At the train, passengers push each other when entering the train and sometimes it hurts, because there are more passengers than the number of trains .

Cleaning my room, trying to keep it neat and organized is also stressful to me. Since I go to school, I have the stress of keeping up with my grades, homework, tests etc. There's quite a lot of things that stress me out. At home, at school, at work. For me, I get stressed to the extreme when a lot of these daily problems come up to me all at once. That is when my stress levels are at its worst. Otherwise, I would have little stress and I would be able to handle it much better. Sometimes friends can be stressful to me too. Especially when it comes to disagreements and such; trying to keep the peace can be hard.

Hi eileen! I support your views that maintenance activities concerning our home sometimes become quite stressful and getting repaired leaking taps and fixing electric wires/bulbs looks a tedious job because it is difficult to find good plumbers and electricians. We remain at the mercy of plumbers etc. and they work according to their whims and fancies. I also feel same kind of stress when dealing with plumbers and electricians.

I think the biggest stress causer for me is people who don't accept responsibilities. I have a major paper due for one of my classes and it is a group project...the head of the group has been absent from class, left early and when the group has time to work on the project in class she goes up to the teacher and spends the entire time talking to her, trying to sell her real estate (the head of our group is a real estate agent). I spent all my Thanksgiving break stressing over the project as I haven't gotten a bad grade in any of my business classes. When I start to stress really bad I turn on classical music and make myself stop, sit down, and listen. Within three minutes every bit of tension and stress in my body is gone.

Hi, many things can cause me stress, work stuff always bring a lot of stress to me, even when I go home, sometimes I can't help myself thinking about the work thing, and if the boss doesn't happy about my work, I will get upset, and work under pressure, I want to do better, and that can only bring me more pressure.

Hi eileenleyva, Taking care of my girl and husband sometimes causes me stress. However, the most stressful thing will be doing assignments and having examinations. When I was working on my assignment or preparing for exams, sitting at my desk for 3 to 4 hours, I could see tens of my hair dropped on the floor, and grey hair comes out, too. It makes me worry, as originally my hair is thin and not much. I don't want to get bald in my early forties. ha ha ha.... Have a nice day! agonyaunt69 (2:20pm 1 Dec 2009 Hong Kong time)

For me it's money. Money money money. I'm a college student, and I cannot find a job. I've been applying and looking for over a year now, and simply no one is hiring. I have been living off savings and my parents' help, and its driving me insane. If I had money, 75% of my problems wuld be solved.

I get stressed whenever something that needs to be done doesn't get done. Which means a variety of things. But because I have ADD my focus gets waylaid after a few minutes. Helps me get through stressing times but I just feel so weird.

so many things stress people out. especially now that the economy is down, stress levels are higher than ever. maintaining the house can be very stressful. my car barely passed inspection last month and it gets worse in cold weather. that is definitely a huge stress factor. then there's not having money for Christmas this year. i only have a few people to buy for but hardly any money to get anything. i especially wanted to get something special for my boyfriend since he's been gone for over a year. stress is definitely a big deal this year.

My stress factor is waiting. I hate waiting for anyone. Be it my guests or even my maid. I cannot do anything around the house till these people turn up or I get a call saying that they have cancelled their appointment or whatever. It is only then am I at peace to carry on with my chores. Disgusting. Is it not?

Yes, cleaning and maintaining the house is stressful thing. For me taking care and teaching kids is the most stressful when we are encountered any problem/issue but it also the most rejoice and happiness thing that we experience. God Bless!

What stresses me most is that, when you care for someone who does not care about you! It is such waste of time caring for a person, who do not really mind you! it is such a dumb, stupid act to do! But an unselfish act for them. Lucky are those people that i care, even if they don't care about me!

I used to stress out a lot, but I've learned that it's not worth it now. When I was in college, I would stress a lot about my homework or big exams that were coming up. I worked two jobs on top of going to school full time, so my schedule was really crazy and if one thing went wrong, the whole day fell apart.

What causes my stress hmmm. I would have to say having a daughter(15 monthes) who just can't stay still and wants attention 24/7 and believe me she could care less to sleep. another thing that causes me stress would be having to worry about money constantly and of course the man of the house causes me stress as well.
