The best way to actually keep your kids from accessing from those sites is to install a Parental control program on your computer. With that security, you will be able to control the sites that your child can visit or you can even control the time that they will surf the Internet. Usually windows vista has a default parental control or you can also install a separate security software. Just make sure that you keep your password, co'z if not?, it's possible that your kid will be the one who will control or prevent you from surfing!

You are correct. Parents should be involved, and from time to time, do a spot check of what the kids are doing online. Open discussions should be done to point out the advantages and disadvantages of using the internet. Children should be aware of the potential risks or harm it could bring. Also, I've seen on TV that we could actually lock some sites so that our children could not access those sites with mature contents.

Actually you are right, but parents cant just spend their time checking on their kids if they are accessing harmful sites. Remember, parents work for their family. So why don't we install a parental control security software to do its job, and your kid will be safe too.:)

I agree with you breinchem. I believe that's the best way to do it. We could not really watch our kids all the time. Any technological protections like this could be a big help.

I think the best way is to lock such sites which are adultry or not safe for the kid or the one which the kids like to surf and are addicted to it very much like orkut or facebook etc. or you may examine the child and say them whats right and wrong for them, otherwise locking the sites is the best way to keep them away.
