It would be much better if you have told her from the very beginning what do you like when it comes to cooking. At least she knows what to do. But as of the moment, I think it would be best to tell her that you don't like the way she cooks and it would be better if she use less oil and not too much onions. Just tell her politely. Remember, she might take it against you if you talk to her as if you don't want her to cook for you anymore.

Honestly, i don't have much information about it since i am a guy and secondly i just buy my food outside since i am just alone. But let me just share my opinion about the topic. We should always bear in mind that "patience is always a virtue".Be patient with her. I know on the coming days she would learn the taste the you want.It is always hard at the beginning but once you have mastered it, you can already serve whatever food that your boss has requested. Give her time,at least 1 month, if she did not change, try to look for a new cook.I hope this will help you.

I think for the first week or two you should be with her while she cooks and giude her, like if you see she's cutting too much onion, just tell her. Show her how much oil you want she used. I think the best way is to show her directly.
