My opinion is that obviously the Twilight series is mainly marketed for the young girls. HOWEVER, Even though it's "mainly" marketed for young girls, it shouldn't be marketed JUST for the young girls. There ARE some boys/guys that like the series. Although a lot of the boys/guys think that this series is hilarious and too girly for them to handle and literally despise this series, there are actually a lot of boys/guys who actually find this series quite enjoyable and entertaining. My opinion is, YES, the books may be focused more on the young girls...but that too DO has some boys/guys hooked. The movies however, is a different story. Usually when movies are made they want to generally target a larger audience. This series is a basic romance/action/mystery movie. If people like romance/action/mystery, they should watch it because it is based on their interest, not what the public opinionated. Even though a lot of girls follow it does not make it especially marketed to young girls. We could call it a movie that attracts a lot of girls, BUT does not make it JUST a girl film. ALSO, guys should NOT be ashamed to like and watch the twilight series. I, personally, overall thought the movie was amazing. Although, yes, there are a lot of girls there but there were also a lot of guys there that enjoyed the movie. Not to mention, there ARE alot of gays in this world. Speaking of gays, they will like the cast of Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson. There have been a lot of discussion about Team Jacob and Team Edward. I am Team Jacob/Bella/Alice. This cast, overall, was a good cast. Yes, there are a lot of haters, but if you think about it, there are haters for everything. If there are no haters, it's not anything big. You can't please and satisfy EVERYONE. Some people might not like the movie because it does not follow the book. Yes, it may not follow exactly or not enough or a lot but left some stuff out, BUT if you think about that too, all movies that are based off books have movies that don't have everything off the book or left something out in the movies. Even Harry Potter has it. I know I am ranting a lot, this is kinda funny, but one thing led to another. So, overall, I think that the TWILIGHT series is...YES a movie that attracts a lot of girls but is nOT especially marketed to young girls. O yea...another thing to rant on. YES, people DO get annoyed of the screaming young girls who talk and scream every single time. I don't really blame the people getting annoyed because YES both Edward and Jacob are hot but enough is enough. Screamin 1 time is good enough, but screaming and talking about them 24/7 DOES get on people's nerves.

hi lorcan, lol..Yes it was well marketed to young girls and they are so crazy about it. Did you see how some of them waited for Robert P. on the set?, some sleep on the streets where he will go like on his hotel. Girls are so loving the film and the cast that is sometimes becoming funny, but that is how young girls are, but not all of them.

yes, girls like that kind of thing with the vampires and werewolves whereas guys don't as much. especially because it's kind of a love story really and plus the guys in the films are really good looking whereas the girls aren't really as good looking.

Yes, blatantly so. Although, having said that, I watched 'Twilight' the other day and thought some of the guys were quite hot... The girls, less so. It is abstinence p0rn, it is truly, obscenely awful - and it is also, without doubt, the funniest film I've seen in aeons! The poverty of imagination is side-splittingly hilarious in an hysterical, pant-wetting fashion... I'm really glad I watched it. I think the fact that it is such an obvious piece of marketing fluff for the 'Hannah Montana' generation (plus, oh, two or three years) should not detract from the fact that it had me in stitches for two hours.

I really hate the twilight saga mainly because there just trying to market to young girls which get obsessed and will buy everything that has to do with twilight. Now if they marketed more to adults then I tell you the movies would probably be a lot better then they are even though I have not seen either and trust me i do not plan on seeing it would not waste my money. But If it were for adults then I might consider seeing these movies.
