thanks doctor sunnycool. i will surely drink more water. i am even trying my best not to drink coffee and tea (i was advised by the doctor to refrain from taking it both, as it triggers my acid reflux causing choking episodes) instead replace it with water. this will really be an effort for me. but i know how it will do good to my body. I WILL!

Then do not neglect MSF try to take as much as possible.it really helps every one to avoid many health problems starting from cold,sneezing to heart attacks.so make it a point to take the prescribed amount.you can calculate the exact amount to be taken by multiplying your weight by 0.03 the resultant would be the amount of intake of water. What happened offlate you seem to be so tensed or are you busy with your work coz you used to be in the first ten of my respondends now you are thirty].gud day.

I admit, I am a bad girl. I don't take in the required amount of water. But, I have been attempting to make changes in that. I am finding ways to make drinking water more pleasing to the palete. For example, I will add some fresh fruit to my water to give it a different flavor. Sometimes I might put lemons in it or I will add lemons and cucumbers, fresh raspberries or even strawberries. it just depends. I do however try and drink other beverages as well that will help to hydrate the body, there are a lot of great herbal teas on the market that will help give you additional benefits as well. Now, hopefully, I can keeping kicking myself to do what is right for my body. I am sure I would be a happy person, maybe drop some of the weight that I have put back on. Congrats on your achievements!

Thanks. It is so nice to see that I'm not the only one that will attempt to respond to everyone who posts something in return on my discussions. ;) I slipped yesterday, but, still managed to get some more fluids into my system. Drinking water early in day for some reason doesn't work for me, especially on an empty stomach. Every time I have tired, I end up with an upset stomach, it is really weird. The first time I tried doing that, I ended up sick from it. Isn't that strange?

As you have started taking the required amount in so many ways for an healthy apetite so you are exempted from being called to be an "bad girl". Try to have water in the early mornings with an empty stomach this helps you to loose weight more easily with out much stress by working outs. Thank you for responding and appreciating.gud day.

depends on the day on how much i drink, but i did read an article in a mag about how much water you should drink. it depended on your weight, i worked it out on the calculator. with my weight i was to drink just over 2L per day, where my partner was to drink 3L per day cause of his weight. try this and see what you come up with. body weight X 0.03 = what the answer is if how much water you should drink.

Hi Weasel thank you for the additional tip for the discussion. But if we follow according to the weight of an person then 2 litres per day for an average person think it is way to less.May be you live in a much colder environment so you dont have to take much water but at our place it is real hot always so we got to take much liquids to cope up with the heat. Thank you Weasel for your Add-on and gud day.

it is really hard to take so much of water in winter and our body doesn't require so much of water coz we dont sweat much in winter season our body has its water contents which is not the same in summer season.gud day.

hi sunny^^;; you have mentioned pretty well the benefits of drinking lots of water. however i think it depends on our body needs, atleast it has to be 8glasses minimum. too much drinking water too flushes sodium and thus can make someone faint. i think its also better to include other liquids like fruit juices and tea to replenish the drained minerals

oh yeah i can understand the hot weather there. i heard it's really scorching in summer so it's better to take juices or something with sugar to avoid dehydration. sometimes water alone cannot sustain and replenish one's energy. do you have coconuts there? i think it's a good cooler for summer
@sunnycool (12714)

yeah i take coconut water for sure in summer season else our body temparatures would be same as that of the sun .

yes Lucky i have mentioned all that quantity taking into account for people who live in extremely hot conditions like my place. But it is not necessary to take so much water in winter season coz we dont sweat more when compared to summer season. The actual quantity to be taken depends upon our weight too.multiply your weight by 0.03=amount of water to be taken.so you got to take around 1.5 ltrs. gud day Lucky.

I have to admit, I do struggle to take the recommended amount of water per day. But, if five liters a day is the recommended, then I am quite fortunate that I am unable to follow these recommendations. Because five liters is far too much water to drink day. In fact it can be fatal. The recommended amount of water to drink is 2.5-3 liters a day, particularly three if you are overweight, constipated etc. Five liters is recommended if you are doing exercise, sport in hot weather, or adventures in a desert. This is because your body will be burning energy and will be sweating excessively. If you try to drink 5 liters a day then you may develop an electrolyte imbalance and you may have kidney problems.

I agree with yourlankan. In normal condition, at least 2 liters per day are sufficient as per advised by the doctor when I was sick the other day, which is equivalent to 2 large bottles of mineral water or eight glasses of water. Drinking too much water can cause intoxication. I think even when doing heavy exercises and consume too much water will be risky because the salt and water must be balance in our bodies, that's why there are sports drinks like 100plus to replace the water. That's what I think...
@sunnycool (12714)

1 Dec 09
yeah you are right i have suggeted that amount considering our climatic condition which is very hot.so if you reside in an colder region then you have to decrease it coz you dont excreate more sweat as we do. And coming for woringouts if we take too much of water then it would fluh out our proteins so we got to drink according to our diet and body resistance. Thank you for responding.gud day.

Try to take in small quantities so your body absorbs it.if you take huge amounts at a time then it would be of no use and you got to visit your bathroom more times.so try to have fruit juices so you get the liquids(water content) for your body and good for your halth too. Thank you for responding Mikeysmom.gud day.

hey I think you got wrong information because 2.5 - 3.5 liters of water is enough for the healthy life because the food we take also have water in it so on the whole we can get 5 liters of water for our body . I have kidney stone problem so doctor advised to take at least 3 liters of water daily.

Hi prakash,I have mentioned the quantity considering the normal people.But you got to take much lesser amounts compared to normal ones coz the more water you drink the more troubles you got to face so 3-4 is really apt for you as sugested by your physician. Thank you for responding.gud day.

Hi rika,good that you already knew all the advantages of taking sufficient water daily.but you mentioned that you take upto 8 litres some times which should be avoided else your body would develop so much weight coz it increases the water levels in your body which is not good for health. So take minimm requirement do not try to over do it friend.Thank you for responding.gud day.

Your topic reminds me again that I need much water everyday and I am regretful I usually don't care about my own body ,my health although my father always tells me drink water as much as I can. Actually I can't swallow a sip water when I am not thirsty ,but if I am thirsty I can drink a 1.25L bottle of water in one breath ,that is a very bad custom. I have to keep a good custom from now on :)

Drinking so much water in one breathe does no good to you instead try to take in small amounts if you dont like the taste.muliply your weight by 0.03 to get the amount of water you have to take.so from now onwards follow it blesswei coz it doesnt take much time to do so and keeps you away from many diseases. Thank you for responding.gud day.

Its a good practice to begin your day with drinking water so it flushes out the waste toxins from your body.but try to take smaller quantities rather than 1 litre in the morning and in the evening make it point to take small quantities in between so you easily reach the amount to be taken. Thank you for responding.gud day.

Hi chadog,water doesn't help you to get some muscle it makes your body healthier by flushing out all the toxins out of your body so you have an smaller probability to prone to any diseases and this is believed to help obese people to an great extent.so in order to gain weight try to have sprouted seeds and banana before going to sleep which helps you to gain on some weight which can be converted to muscle by working out and keep going with your water intake every day. Thank you for responding.gud day.

5 litres?? no i dont think i had that much content per day. but water in the sense is it only water or liquids. cause mostly liquids has some water content. and think we should include juice too. if so i might touch that 5 litre mark . but water is the precious element that nature has to offer.

Hi josh,5 litres per day includes liquids foods too combined with water.if you have vegetables in your diet then those constitute some amount of water to your body so accordingly plan and make sure that you reach the minimm requirement of your body. God has provided us with five precious elements water,air,fire and forgot the other two man which can be utilised efficiently but we tend to neglect those.Thank you for responding.gud day.

I know the important of water to us. But correct timing to take water also very important. It's because the correct timing to take water, will maximize its effectiveness of human body. As I heard that two glasses of water, 30 minutes before meal, will help digestion. One glass of water, after waking up, will helps active internal organs. And one glass of water before taking bath, will helps lower blood pressure. Hope the information will helps.
