I feel mba is evergreen course with full demand in the corporate world and it makes the way for the budding professionals to overshadow the others. But i don't exactly know what mba is all about? what are its job prospects? the quality of job after mba?? and what makes it so special??

It might not have been necessary in the past but, in the current economic climate, I believe that it is. There are too many middle and upper management people out of work, competing for every open position with every company that is hiring. If you want to stand out amongst all that competition, a MBA helps you to do that.

from my personal experience qualifications help but I live next to a university and speak to many graduates who expect a good job just because they have a phd or a mba etc etc this is real life, qualifications are great to have but not a guarantee of a high paid career. I left school with nothing at the age of 16 I still have no formal qualifications yet I have run my own internet marketing business for well over 10 years and will be retiring at 40 in about 5 or 6 years. So it helps but it does not guarantee a good job yet many students think it does.

Not really necessary, thank you. If you want to climb the corporate ladder to the top, then you'll probably need an MBA from a specific school. many people are taking the education that they have and are starting their own businesses. Some of there are the multi-billion corps of tomorrow. Remember, Bill Gates started building computers in his garage, and look where he is now. And, despite what some would have you believe (like President whimpy), Gates didn't start his company to help people, he did it to make money, a boat load of money. His endeavours ended up helping thousands of people, but that was not his primary goal. People who go into business solely to help people end up bankrupt.

Qualification counts very much in your life, but if you have no experience, you will not get good job. Experience plays key role for your progress.
