do you tend to change your number everytime or are you like me and keep your old number as that way you do not have to tell everyone each time you change your number.

I've had a cellular phone since 1997, when I was seventeen years old and I've had the same cellular phone number since that same time. In the past twelve years I've been through four phones and I've always kept the same number because I think it would just be too difficult to tell everyone that my number had changed. We also use the cellular phone as our primary phone number so changing it every couple of years would be very inconvenient.

Yep, that would be how I am. I wouldnt really like to change numbers since it is a hassle to inform everyone that the number Im using will be the new one. It really is very impractical because I have to deal with serious stuff and having only one number would let me monitor all of them, the serious stuff, as well as friends' messages. Most people would also not be confused with which number I might be using because they might think that the unregistered number is only a friends' number that I used to send them a message because I might not have load credits. So to avoid confusion, hassle, expense and impracticality, I wouldnt change my old number even with a new phone.^_^

I think there are alot of people that hate to change their number as they tend to forget what their new number is as well as there are alot of places that they have to tell there new number to as well.I am going to change my number as that way i can avoid some of the people that i no longer have nothing to do with as well as the people that only ring me when they want something.

Oh in that case, changing numbers would be the most easiest way to go about it. You'll only be able to keep in touch with those that you hold dear.

I don't like to change my cell phone number because my friends will have a hard time reaching me once it is changed. But I have a special number to use during my days for my family only. So I am using two cell phones.

I used to have 2 mobiles and yet they both used to run out of charge as well as credit at the same time, which was not good.I could ndver remember either of the numbers either so i decided to only use one as this was a lot easier.

dear jj, you can have the number you like to use (like your old one) only if you are on a plan. here, most of the time, when one buys a new cellphone, the sim card is also new hence there is a new number. thank u for this discussion. ann

I do think it is alot easier to keep the number as otherwise it costs alot of money to tell everyone as well as to notify all the different places that need your number to keep changing it.It is rare that i change my mobile phone, the only time i change my mobile is when it do not work anymore.

I have had to change my number each time I got a new phone because I either changed companeis, or the new phone I got even at the same company would not allow me to keep my old number. I have no idea why they had the problem with my numbers, but that's what happened. Now they are making phones that will allow us to keep our numbers, and next time I get a new phone, i will keep the number that I have.

I am still using my first mobile phone, but the contract will run out in July. Since I will still be with the same provider, I plan to keep my number when I get my Iphone. I also plan to increase the coverage. I cannot see having to give out a new number each time. I know when my husband changed the provider for our land line, he also changed the number and it was a hassle writing and phoning all those people.

Hi jugsjugs. No, I don't change my number whenever I get a new cell phone. I just keep the old one. Mainly because my service provider doesn't change numbers when I upgrade my phone. But now that you mention it I'd rather keep the old number anyway as I wouldn't like to change phone numbers that often. I have a hard enough time remembering the one that I have. Plus I couldn't imagine changing it that much. Not only because I'd have to always give out my new number, but because it would confuse the hell outta me! LOL Happy mylotting!

I retain my old number. It so hard to text them one by one but good thing if you have purchase a new phone that has the send to many items, but first of all sent to many items means you will do a group for it. I have been using my phone number for 8 years now, I just add another cellphone sim network. For some people they do want to use new number, because it connects to their new phone, but I am not like that. It saves time and effort to use my old number, so that my friends will still reach me after all the time.

Hi. Normally, I just change the cellphone but not the number. In my whole life, I think I have only changed my cellphone number twice. I hate the hassle of informing everyone of my new number.

Since I have had my cell phone for a year now, I have kept the same number. I do plan to change it when I get my phone turned back on. I have gotten so tired of creditors calling for this woman named Sandra..

I've had the same number for the past 5 years or so. I don't like changing my number because it's a hassle letting people know that I changed my number. It's just easier to keep my old number. Then later on brag about it saying I've had it for a long long long time.

The last time I got a new phone I kept the same number. With the previous to this I had to change numbers because my ex friend was prank calling me all the time and leaving me threatening messages. It was better to change my phone number so she could not bother me again. If I get a new cell phone again I will keep the same number.

Why would you even bother to change your number as a result of getting a new phone? If you had pre-paid I could understand. Those often have numbers attached and are non-transferable. But, as for me I've only changed my number once. I was being stalked. SO with the new number.I'm no longer being stalked. So in a word, no I don't see the reason to do such a thing.
