Does anybody go to Vintage or Thrift Stores to shop for clothing?

I did a post in the Frugal section of Mylot and other mylotters told me about there experiences finding great deals at Vintage and thrift stores and in turn i told them im addicted to finding new articles of clothing and the hottest name brands like BEBE, Hollister,Old Navy,Gap if you look hard enough you can find basically anything and save oodles of money. So would ever go shop at a thrift store? Yes, No, Maybe? I would love to hear some opinions on the battle between Thrift vs. New

Yes, I would go to a thrift store to shop for clothes, as well as having designer clothes. First, you have to consider your budget first before shopping. Ask the question, "Can you afford it? Do I really need this?" After all, why would you buy a designer dress that costs like your whole salary for the month? That is not very wise. Also, it does not matter what clothes you are wearing, as long as they look good on you, the dress has a nice cut, they're clean and pressed, and they fit you, most of all. Regardless if its designer or vintage, you have to consider these factors before buying.

That's my whole point in a nutshell! Why spend everything you make on clothes? ok if you have it like that ok great! but if your pockets are slim you can stay within your budget and still look just as nice as someone who went to the mall. You made some great points about thinking befor you shop very wise to do cause it is so easy to buy a bunch of clothes and accessories you didnt need and easily overspend. Nobody knows i shop at the thrift store not because its a secret....They just dont ask lol I think its a compliment in itself to me.

Oh I love going to vintage stores. Here in the Philippines we have lots of Ukay-Ukay (vintage/thrift store) around. My favorite is in Baguio City where you can purchase original used clothes and bags as well as shoes and accessories. My favorite item I bought was a betsey johnson dress. I really love it.
I also have Gap which I got for only 80 pesos it was like $1.50. I think it saves me money and going to vintage stores/shop is a good thing to do especially if you want to save money and ask some discounts.

That's awesome! Im really happy alot of people are going to the thrift shops and vintage shops I cant talk to anybody around me about it but my mom because all my friends want everything brand new they wont even try it! So it's very exciting to discuss my finds on mylot and have you guys share your shopping experiences with me ;0) I feel normal now lol thanx for responding!
