I was just wondering , cause I have seen many people sleeping in crowded airports and bus terminals but never in my life until today did I witness something a little bit disturbing.
A woman , in her right mind (I think) was reading a novel across the cafe where I was having my brunch , she was sitting on a public bench directly outside the cafe, and as I was almost halfway through with my food , she just curled up on the bench , raised her legs , tucked her novel under her cheek and just slept there ...weird.
Regardless of her safety or being nabbed by the cops , she decided against all odds that this was to be the place she would spend the afternoon napping ...
So am just curious as to how many myLotters have slept in public and what reason did they have to do so.

I went to Europe back in 2001. We had a haunted house that we tore down all night, then packed our bags, then 14 hours flying (didnt sleep) then we arrived in France. We hopped the subway to get to our hotel, we all fell asleep, on the subway with all of our baggage. Thank goodness nobody stole our stuff!

Yes, you were lucky you did not get your stuff stolen. I have never fallen asleep on a subway, but I have seen people sleeping. I think they were drunk and were passed out, not just sleeping. I have also seen people fall asleep on trains and miss their stop. Becuase of that, I make sure never to fall asleep on a train.

Yes, while riding a public vehicle. I usually fell asleep when I go home from school and that my eyes can't fight it anymore. But I also make sure that the passengers around are somewhat to be trusted, like co-students. I don't sleep around without surveying the scene, that's like opening yourself to any harm.

I have fallen asleep in a number of places. For instance, if Im at the beach and lie on the soft white sand I can fall asleep.
I certainly can fall asleep in a bus or train.
I have fallen asllep at an airport in China, when I had to wait 8 hours for my plane.
I would never put my legs up on a bench in a public place, as other peolple should be able to use the bench.
Oh, I have fallen asdllep in parks, if it is a nice sunny day and Im lying on the grass.

This discussion is funny to me, because a few weeks ago I fell asleep in public for the first time. You will never believe where. It was in McDonalds! I just fell asleep after eating my hamburger. Sitting right there in the booth. The thing is, I was anemic, still am, that is when you don't have enough iron in your blood and it makes you tired. So I think that is why I fell asleep. Now I take iron supplements and it hasn't happened since, but I still do get very tired.
I know a friend who fell asleep in a library and someone stole his labtop right out from under him! At least I did not have anything worth stealing with me, but it must have looked awfully funny!

I do not sleep in public unless I feel too tire sometime. I once sleep on the bus, and the bus exceed the station which I need to get off, so I lose my way in the end, I learn the lesson and do not sleep on bus as possible as I can.
