These days there are so many things in our homes that require batteries. We've bought all recharable batteries because though they are more expensive up-front, in the long run they end up saving us a lot of money.
How about you, do you use rechargable batteries? If you don't use recharagable batteries, do you recycle your batteries after you've used them?

I've also switched to rechargable batteries wherever I can. As you said, they save money in the long run. I'm not sure how to recycle a battery. But I try to dispose of them properly, as I know they can "leak."

Proper disposal is good too. For us when we were using standard batteries, they had a recycling bin and the local home repair store that we would take them to so they could be recycled.

I use rechargeable batteries for my digi cam. I think, it's okay as it keeps me from buying again and again. They cost a lot right now. But I don't know if rechargeable batteries will cost a lot of energy too.

In our using rechargable batteries, I haven't really seen a difference in our monthly electric bill for recharging them. The good thing about them is that they don't have to be recharged all the time and you can unplug your charger when it is not in use so it is not robbing you of money on your electric bill.

I mostly throw crappy batteries directly into dustbin, But i am using torch batteries for recycling again and again. Because just switching into the current board, it do recharge those batteries, And Torch sometimes worth us at night. It saves my money to buy news cells for Torch. lol

I know nothing about torch batteries, but from what you've said, it sounds like they would be a good investment.
