hatred and bigotry

I'm moving to texas and I put an ad in the local craigslist - platonic - section to find friends - hopefully older moms of toddlers. I will also join a gym, martial arts center maybe a yoga studio etc. I was going to form a toddler playgroup from responses, now I'll just find one. It has to pertain to the local area - which is does - the rules say nothing of having to be there right now. At the end, I politely asked for platonic only. Its is pretty obvious - you would think - being posted in that section, yet there are still ads for girls looking for girls and I get all kinds of graphic responses. I wanted to avoid that so emphasized the platonic - once - not repetitively as one person said. The answers are so explosive and mean. It was flagged for removal - and I went to the discussions boards to find out why (craigslist doesn't regulate this) and I got all kinds of abuse. I was told I'm hateful and bigoted...stupid and moronic. Can you guys read this and tell me if its hateful and bigoted. And can you please go to the forum if you don't think it is and help me out. I feel so bad by the things they say - although I could just not read it. My little family is moving to Texas next Friday - my husband will be working on the base. I have to admit, its a little overwhelming and scary moving to a new place so I thought I'd post here so maybe I can get to know some people first. If you're 35-55 and have grandkids his age - that will work too! Looking for moms - preferably older moms like me - not interested in getting drunk or going out clubbing and partying but in having fun nonetheless. Someone who would like to start walking or working out or already does a plus. If you like movies or books - or both - even better. Wouldn't mind getting my son started in a church program. I've never joined one because its too overwhelming. If I could find a little clapboard church somewhere with a tiny tiny congregation - I would've joined on long ago. However I'm willing to "get over it" for my son. I've finding a church and getting kids involved in it and its programs at an early age can be beneficial - and fun for them. I'm not interested in 440 or whatever that number is, for many of these postings, it seems almost a requirement for friendship. Please feel free to write and tell me about yourself and your interests and ask any questions. I put this in platonic because that's what I'm interested in. If you're a girl interested in more, try another section of craigslist please.

I see that they took issue with your last sentence. Well, considering the reality of what people ARE looking for on Craigslist quite frequently, I can understand you wanting to be clear. And I also see no other mention in your e-mail about anything bad or discriminating. It appears some may have a chip on their shoulder, and you making clear you want friendship, coupled with you wanting to find a church, torched off the chips on some people's shoulders. They should get over it. Should.

The church thing they were okay, but they felt that obviously any church I would belong to would be full of bigotry and hate and obviously I don't know anything about god they said. There are times I'm not clear and get some responses I don't want and I see things for more then platonic in this section... Thanks though...otherwise TExas is great - people are super nice -smile in the grocery store - we got a condo on Padre Island and our landlady took 250 off the rent - we found her through someone else who was renting who was going to ask around and we told her our rent cap. And she is breaking deposit in fourths! And letting us pay weekly until he gets his first check or two. We were looking at staying at hotels - even the least expensive (second least the most is fleabag) is 800 for two weeks. More then a whole months rent. And she invited us to this Children's Christmas Party at her church sponsored each year by a local builder - santa gifts, games, facepainting...sounds great. Wish there were mylotter friends in Texas! Whoda thought!
