http://www.wyff4.com/news/21784755/detail.html Some of you will remember that I did a discussion yesterday on Winston the skateboarding English bulldog that had been kidnapped. Since no ransom had been called in, I feared the worst!!! I'd like to thank ALL who responded to my discussion, especially my Swedish friend who had already heard that Winston had been returned home!!! So, I go to the website & sure enough Winston has been returned home. Somebody had called the owner & said he knew where the dog was & set up a time & place to return the dog.. When the owner arrived, the truck door was opened & Winston ran back to his owner. The man returning him did NOT ask for a ransom. I still wonder who & why this event ever occurred??? I hate to say this, but with today's climate, could this kidnapping have been a hoax??? One perpetrated in order to boost the opening of the restaurant???

First, I'm glad Winston is home. Second, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was just a publicity stunt. Guess we'll find out if the owner ever takes the kidnapper to Judge Judy! LOL

After reading the article, I am wondering if this was a hoax. Look at all the attention this story received from South Carolina and surrounding areas. I have seen this dog on television and he's amazing. Glad the story ended on a good note and Winston is back with his owner. Interesting discussion.

I'm wondering much the same thing. A lot of good (& free) publicity for a brand new pub. I wonder why he didn't ask the cops to go with him to pick up the dog. He doesn't know who took him & he didn't know who called saying I know where he is. I think I would fear for my life & be afraid to go alone. The person taking the dog knew EXACTLY where to park to keep from being on the camera. A lot of coincidences it seems to me. Am I just being paranoid after all the hoaxes that have been floating around??? Sorry, I couldn't help it!!!

I doubt this news made it past the local stations!!! I live about 40 miles from where it happened so the local station I watch most were telling it within 2 hours after it happened. Winston has bee on Oprah, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, David Letterman & The Doctors TV Show...plus more. We have one helluva network here so I wanted everybody to know he disappeared just in case they took Winston out of state!!! He's safe at home now!!!
