Wow, just WOW, if this thing was still alive (who knows? It may very well be somewhere in a deep trench, waiting) I think I would have a heart attack if it started coming at me! I saw a picture in our Metro today, this supercroc hails from the dinosaur era, Looks like it could take care of its’ own as well! I just thought this was amazing, so I wanted to share it with everyone. Made me wonder too…what happened with evolution that everything was so HUGE at the beginning of time? And also due to evolution, what, made us all get smaller? Is it the land mass? The overpopulation? What else that we have left these days that are still huge but not so? Giraffes, Blue whales, other whales, elephants, etc etc…not as huge, but still!

Not that I'm a Bible thumper or anything but I remember reading in there someplace about giants. I don't know if any bones where ever found but maybe there where giant people back then around the dino age.

Well I recall also reading that people back in the "JC" era, they were all rather short, average height, this I can't recall. There may have well been "giants", or what people considered giants when you're short, like today, we have gigantism (spelling?), but then again, they haven't found any bones indicating this either. Thanks for responding!

If I remember correctly ( from watching those shows ) there was an overabundance of food. Everything grew big because it could & if it didn't it WAS the food.

Well i think they are extinct a long time ago. So you dont have to concerned of encoutering one. Well regarding about evolution maybe its the scarcity of food thats why most creatues evolved into smaller scales. The bigger you are the more food you'll need to consume. So in order to preserve balance, most creatures evolved and become smaller. Imagine how many fish does a whale consumes, if there are a lot of creatures out there who consumes that much, there could be a disequilibrium which could result into lesser fishes on the waters and probably extinction. Unless some of them will evolve into a smaller one to continue to adapt. Just my opinion though.
