Hello friends, People are made with different bio clocks...Some can wake up before the early morning.meditate, exercise, work, finish pending jobs, cook do what not,and others cannot wake up even by 8.am even to save their lives. some can sit all thro the night and produce masterpieces of art or study for the exam or just browse Mylot or some other sites and show no signs of fatigue next day.I am a thoroughbred nocturne and so is my son.We enjoy sitting till midnight, surfing the web, chatting with the friends etc.whereas we feel getting up on Diwali morning is also an ordeal... So what are you? Early bird? or Night hawk ??? please share with me.

Hi vathsala! I am early riser and am an early bird. I get up around 5.30 in the morning. I go to sleep by 10.00 or 10.30 p.m and do not feel like going to bed at late hours. I am like this for many many years since my college days. I would study early in the morning rather than sitting late at night. Though at night, it is total calm and peace and one can enjoy the activities of his choice like surfing and mylotting etc. However, if one is tired after a day's activities one feel like sleeping and going to bed.

I tried to live a disciplined life and I prefer to rise early in the morning rather than awaking late at night.

Hi deepak You are living a disciplined life for which I will appreciate you. I am surely a night bird. Before 12am I never went to bed. But i am an early riser too. I get up at 5.30am. You are right. After a tiresome day's work, we can not awake till late in the night.

Hi vijayanth I know that you are a night hawk because I received some of your comments or responses in the late hours only, when I too was working in the computers. But I will go to bed by midnight or till I feel sleepy. Thanks for responding vijay

Hi dear, The word ‘nocturnal’ is rightly suitable to my hubby and kids. They can sit in late hours in the night. You may surprise to know that my younger son is the last one sleeping at home around 12.00. But I am just opposite and really wish to sleep early but it is not possible. Yesterday I gave a good slap to my younger one for taking his tri-scooter out to play outside at 11.30 PM. (I am sorry to slap him but all my lovely efforts failed then I had to do it). They can sleep in morning but I can't do it and I want to get up early to complete by house chorus. So I am sleepy dear.

Hi sree I think, in all the households, if one of the partners is an early bird, the other one will definitely be a nocturnal. In my house, my husband sleeps very early, say around 9.30 but I and both of my sons will go to bed around 12 or even late until we feel sleepy. In the mornings me and my DH both are early birds. I get up at 5am. he around 5.30. Hi dear don't slap children. After all he is a small child. Just tell hem that if he did not follow mom's order, then you are not going to talk to him. Then he will come inside and sleep. OK dear. bye

Hi neelima Now a days, I think so many people are night hawks, because of their work schedule or because of the internet, I do not know. My son used to do night shifts for 1 whole year and hence now he is unable to sleep in the night. He wakes up till 2am. Do not allow your daughter to sleep in the day time. Then automatically she will sleep by 9pm

I get up about 5AM so I guess I am an early bird. I like the early morning time. It is quiet (the other members of my family think I am slightly nuts for getting up that early) and I find that some issues I had been dealing with the day before have been mentally resolved. I know what I should do and I just do it. They say the early bird gets the worm--but it is the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Hi trruk Undoubtedly you are an early bird only. You are right. Certain things should be done with complete peace of mind which we get it in the morning time only when the atmosphere is calm and cool. Even I get up early and sit in front of the computer and I can give responses peacefully. Afterwards I will get lots of disturbances. Thanks for sharing your views

I cannot stand getting up early, and only get up if i have to i.e. for work. At the weekend I try to lay in as late as possible but alas when you start rising early you find you can't sleep for long periods anymore! it sucks!

Hello kathcake Working people feel like laying in bed for some more time as their lives are mechanical during the week days. Only on week ends they should take rest and relax. On winter season, because of the climate nobody except the office goers are willing to get up early including me. But once I get up, again I don't feel like sleeping. Thanks for sharing your valued views with me my friend

So you are a night bird. Well I am in total contrast to you. Though I wake up till 11.30 and sometimes even upto 2.00 AM in the night, I feel very sleepy then. But once a sleeping round is finished, say three hours or four hours, I feel fresh. I do not mind to get up at 3.00 AM also and start doing work without feeling sleepy.

Oh! That is great. Though I was awake till 12.30, in the morning as usual I will be up around 5 am. This is my routine work. but in the noon I will take a small nap which makes me fresh and helps me to be awake till midnight.

I'm a little bit of both. I almost never ever go to bed before midnight and I am usually up until 2 or 3 a.m. I also almost always am up by 7am. Often I wake up before my alarm goes off. I do have mornings when I just really really need the sleep and especially the older I get. When I was younger I could easily stay up all night and function thru the day and still not crash until like 10pm.

Hi sid I think your body metabolisam is good. That is why though you are awake the entire night, you can able to do your tasks during the day without crashing. That is great to hear. Thanks for responding

Hi, vathsala30. I am usually an early bird. I get up around 4 to 6 every morning. On weekdays, I get up so that I can get my son up for school. And on the weekends, I get up early so that I can get on the Internet to work. I have always been an early bird ever since I had my kids. I am still the same way. I never was one to lay down past 9 in the mornings. I can't stay in the bed this long. Not unless, I am exhausted and I went to bed around 1 that morning. My grandmother and all of them, are early birds, they get up around seven and then they lay down around 7 that evening. I guess I took after them somewhat when it comes to the mornings.

Hi. I am both an early bird and a night hawk. I could not sleep until 12 midnight but I'm already awake at 6:30 in the morning. I could not stay in bed beyond 8 in the morning. It makes me feel dizzy and less energized during the day. However, I am no longer productive in the afternoon if I wasn't able to take a nap at mid-day. I acquired this habit from my father. We have very similar sleeping habit.

I am actually a bit of both. When I have nothing to wake early for the next day I am a night hawk. But if there is something to do in the morning, I enjoy waking up extra early to take my shower, eat and surf the web, and get on MyLot. I don't really know why I can switch my sleeping habits back and forth by will, but I enjoy having this ability because I get to enjoy the cool nights, and the early mornings.

Hi 14dgeneraldefence You are correct. If there is not much work in the morning, then what is the necessity of getting up early? Even I also get up late if there is not that much work. and go to sleep early if I am not interested to surf the web in the late hours. Some times We feel bored to do the same work again and again daily. Is it not?

I am, by nature, a "early afternoon" person. But, for the past 3 years, I have been working graveyard shift (mostly because I make an extra $2/hr and haven't gone to a dayshift because I would lose the shift differential). So, now, even on my days off...here I am at midnight, typing away until the wee AM hours. I will likely get 2 hours of sleep and then I will get up and start my day. I am now a night owl...but not by choice. :) PS-Good discussion. I will be interested in some of the responses...gave a great day...er, night!

Hi hrobertson According to your shifts you need to be awake or asleep during odd hours. Thank you for giving me your valued response even during the late hours. Bye.
