Hi everyone! Im a bilingual person and I was thinking that some of us that speak more than one lenguage can answer and post more discussions in a different lenguage. Do you think mylot.com should support more lenguages?

I think that mylot is okay the way it is, using only English. I don't think they should add more languages because then the myLot staff and most of the myLot users would not understand some other languages. There are a lot of different languages out there, and it would be very confusing if everyone could type whatever they like. This would mean that people would not understand many of the discussions, and then people would not be able to post as much.

Um, actually I was still writing my response when the people were already responding. I didn't get to read any of those responses until after I posted, so I didn't know until then. . .

No, because people would post a lot of rulebreaking topics in foreign languages and the mods wouldn't be able to read them.

Please take your time to read the previous post on this same discussion. I have told many people that the different language will NOT be on the same page!

hi i dont think it would good if mylot allows people to express and discuss in their mother tongue which would only create problems for them and mainly us.if every one starts doing that then no would have so many discussions to respond and all the memebers would form into groups according to their languages which means we can no longer call this mylot coz it is divided accoring to different languages. Many people join this to improve their english skills so it doesnt work that good.gud day.

did you even take the time to read the preview post? I see that alot of you mylot users dont read clearely- thats ok, I have mentioned MANY times that it would all be separate, for example, having a different site as mylot.jp (thats for japan) and so on...

i think i should post my response i really dont have to go with other responses though it would have been better if you could have added in the discussion while starting it rather than complaining with your respondents. If mylot goes on creating separate sites for each language then would you think it is going to make more money and it isn't a simple job to manage so many.

Hello Beat. There is no way. I think. Because when you post a discussion on French - the people who don't know that language will not understand what you are talking about on discussion, if you know what I mean... I think that the best way for posting discussions is... English. It seems like 80% of the world knows English. Another languages are not that popular and it will be hard for other people to discus on that languages.

I see where you´re coming from, but like I said in my previous anwser Mylot could make more money making more sites like mylot.jp (thats for japan) Having these other lenguages separated from english. Like that anyone will be able to anwser in their own lenguage. I didnt mean putting everything together... that would be a total mess!

Now I see... well it will be so good for us and this is a good idea, but I don't think it can be true soon... If someday we have in Bulgaria My Lot this will be amazing and I think this will be the most popular site with a big traffic.

One language gives oneness to the forum which would otherwise be divided and there will be confusion. Those who have difficulty in interacting in the English language could resort to translators which are freely available on the Net!

If you read what I posted previously on this same discussion... I don´t mean having different languages all in one page. Rather than that I meant to have different sites like mylot.it (that's for Italy).

This is a global forum where all nationalities meet and language should not be a reason to divide them!!!

Yes, I am a trilingual language person as well, but I believe that we shouldn't make mylot a multi lingual place, merely for the fact that it would be hard to find discussions that are in your language, and it would make this place look very messy. Also, some people that are not multi lingual will feel left out of their discussions, and some of them might be very interesting and only available to some people. So no, I think and believe that mylot should stay only english. Nameless_

Well, I didn mean put all the discussions in the same page. Rather, what I mean was having different pages, like mylot.it, mylot.ru, mylot.jp etc etc... Having like that something more organized. Kinda like any other social networking site, which this is what mylot is all about, but the difference is that you get a few cents for posting.

Personally, I for one am Glad they only allow one language here, as since I only speak English and this site is bases here in the US, they would in turn have to hire more people to help out if they had more than one language accepted here as well. And personally I think that this here is a Plus for those from other countries to help them learn more English and doing a lot more with it as well.

I don´t understand what you mean exactly, "they would in turn"? I think I get the idea of what you mean.

No I don't think that myLot should have a separate language section. May come here to become petter with English. Also if there was a separate language section a lot of the richness of coming into contact with people from other parts of the world would be lost because someone like me would not be coming in contact with some one like you. It gives me a change to learn something about your part of the world.

if we allowed to speak multi-language myLot need people to translate it to English, and if anyone using different language it consume more time and energy to read all discussion.

Hello Beatriz! I hope that mylot could support more languages in the near future because most Asian Countries specially in Japan, only few could understand English. I want to share this great site to my friends but they cant even read nor understand. But I think it could not be possible now since it will be a big job for mylot's administrators to translate the site into various languages and thus needing more people who are native speaker in a specific language in the administrative side to check the discussions. But I am still looking forward to it..

Yes! it would be hard for the admins but I believe tere are progams out there that can do the job for them.

hey that is kind of true if this becomes a international site i think people would get paid less. But it would be nice if admin did have a different tab for people who speak spanish the 2nd most popular language in the U.S. I'm not for this new tab to tell you the truth because we have to spend one hour on here just to make one dollar. And i don't have time to spend 2 hours on here just to make two dollars so we can have a tab for spanish speakers. I think there might be spanish paying sites like these. If there is people who speak spanish should join them. Problem solved?

hi there! That would be interesting but I don't think that would be a nice idea to have. I like how mylot is and adding different language may cause confusion in here. I mean, it is hard to imagine to have different forum section catering to different languages, for sure the admin will have a hard time controlling the site plus, it might create miscommunication to some. Having English as the only language allowed in here is the best solution for us to have a good conversation and discussion. Happy Lotting!

I don´t think you have read the previous comments on this discussion. But that OK. Like I mention earlier having different languages all in the same page would definitely create confusion but if, mylot makes a different page eg; mylot.es etc etc that would drive them more traffic therefore making the site more popular.

I don't think that will be a good idea, because what if we cannot understand what is talking about then we have less to give responses to it. It should be English so everybody can give their ideas and to be fair.

No, we need to speak only one language to understand each other..For example if you use your local dialect, How can I interact? Cause I don't understand the word your saying..So its really best if we speak only english so that everybody can relate to the topic posted.

No and I don't think I want that to happen because I believe that english is a universal language. Its easy for us to communicate because most of the people knows this language pretty well and its easy to learn if you want to.

Many of my country men would love it. We love speaking our language. Many people could join mylot because many were more adept in writing their language.

Hi beatriz I dont believe it should be the best thing to do. I think it would break lets say the unity of mylot. And also if more languages are accepted there must be moderators for each language. So in my opinion its ok they stick with just english.
6 Dec 09
No , the answer is no!!! Everybody on this site should know english!!!!
