Tasks on MyLot

I only joined myLot a couple of days ago so am new to the site. I have started new discussions and made comments on ones I was interested in and have made $0.19 which isn't bad really! I am from England and I don't know the exchange rate at the moment but I am in PayPal, which helps!
Even though $0.19 is good for the short time I have contributed to the site is there a way of making more quicker? I don't want to come across as being greedy but the fact I'm earning at all is encouraging in itself.
What are "tasks" and how do I make money from them?
Any replies would be much appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to myLot, Janey! My first question is, what denomination is your currency through Paypal? Meaning is your paypal account set up receiving Euros, British Pounds? MyLot pays in US dollars so I'm guessing your exchange would be whatever rate paypal is giving in relation to current currency exchange rates. I'm in Argentina and right now $1usd gives me about 3.85 Argentine pesos. There are lots of sites on the net that show current currency exchange rates.
About the tasks. Any task with Sharon Bucks with give you the most income. She has paid anywhere from $2 to $4 per task in the past. They can be a little complicated though. Really read what the task is about first then decide if you want to accept it. Usually you have to write 4 or 6 paragraphs containing at least 3 sentences each on a particular topic. It could be anything from "home mortgage insurance rates in Kansas" to compare and contrast something. Personally, I tend to stay away from the other tasks. In most cases, it's just somebody trying to get you to sign up under them in a particular program. If you're looking for other programs to participate in, by all means...sign up! Be warned though that some in the past have turned out to be a scam, causing the myLot administrators to post something about it.
The quickest way to make money on myLot is to be active. It's that simple. Start a discussion about something you want to talk about. Respond to discussions that you relate to. Put some pictures in your profile. Vote on responses (there is a little + or - sign off to the right by each response). If you start a discussion, select a best response. That's about all that comes to mind right now. Take time to look at your page and set it up the way you want. You can also gain a bit of income through referrals, getting other people to join. When they are active, you get a percentage of what they make. Looking forward to seeing your discussions! Good luck here!

No sweat on the delay in responding, Janey. Happens to me all the time. lol. With the sterling pound, you should get a pretty decent exchange rate for your dollars, huh? As I said before, it works well for me being in Argentina. I'm the same....just trying to make a little spending money here. Hopefully learn something and pass along any knowledge I might be able to. Just so you know, I just got my first payment from myLot! Yahoo! Took me a while because I wasn't too active but once I started discussing and commenting, the cents add up pretty quickly. Hope you're enjoying yourself!

I am so sorry I have not responded to your comment until now. I have a better understanding of how this site works which is why I failed to respond earlier.
Thank you for your informative answer but I have decided to start and respond to discussions as I know I can ramble on (hopefully, without repeating myself) and get paid that way. I am not out to make loads of money but the first $10 would be a major milestone for me as the likes of ClixSense have not made me $0.10 never mind $10. By the way, my currency is pound sterling.

Hi Janey! Welcome to mylot!
Tasks are actually some work that others users want you to do. They varies from $0.02 until $0.10 for sign ups. They are easy to do and may help you with your earnings. If you are good in writing, you can also try SharonBucks tasks and you will be paid $4 on each article you submitted once you passed.

Hi! Thanks for your response. Does the money I make appear on the sites you mention or on myLot? As you can tell I'm a bit confused (doesn't take much) lol.

The money you earn from doing a myLot task is credited to your myLot account :) For instance, with the SharonBucks writing tasks - if you submit a piece and it is approved, you will see the stated reward added immediately to your myLot earnings balance. Good luck to you if you decide to give the tasks a try... I really enjoy the writing tasks, myself, and they've definitely helped my overall earnings here.

Hi thinking.
Good that you are enjoying writing on articles and was approved for it. I have write twice so far and was rejected. So I quit on doing it. I decide to focus more on responding on discussions and commenting on it too.

Welcome to myLot and hope you will continue to want to stick around. As you will learn like many of us have, myLot for most of us is way more than just the money. It is a place to come and have Fun, meet others and earn a little bit of extra $$ in the process as well. Once you learn to have Fun the money just becomes an extra luxury as well.
The way you earn money in here is by Starting New discussions like the one you have here, as well as posting back to others discussions. The main thing to remember, is Quality over quantity. This means when starting a New discussion find discussions that others are interested in talking about as well making people be interested in responding back as well. Also tend to respond back to the others posting in there to keep these going as well and to let others know you are interested in what they have to say as well.
Also when responding back to others discussions remember to stick to the Topic at hand offering advice when you can. Also remembering to post back with 4-6 lines or more will help earn you better in these as well. If you just remember to do these, and come here and have Fun your earnings will follow. And if you can remember this is just a nice site to have Fun and meet others the rest will not matter much as well.
Wishing you the Best.

Hi!
What a lovely post you have er...posted lol. You have the same mindset as me and you are right, it isn't about making as much money as you can. It's all about helping people (wherever possible), making new friends and..like you say, having fun with it. There are some on here who are quite vindictive and don't even like it if people make more money than them (they refer to the "newbies"). Well, they don't know their circumstances so they can't prejudge like that in my opinion.
Anyway, it is lovely that there are nice people like your good self I can respond to, and thanks for the advice, it has been well recieved. :-)

Welcome to mylot to you, and it's great to have a new addition to mylot family. You can choose to do tasks, and if approved, the amount will be credited to your mylot account. And you will be paid one time, including your participation in mylot activity with discussions. I think other friends have given you a great explanation for this. I'm giving another additional variation for your understanding. Hope this helps.

All depends on the task really but I am very skeptical about it

Hi!
I know what you mean. Some of the tasks are a bit "samey" and dodgy looking if you ask me but, hey, if people make money out of it, good luck to them. I would just hate to be scammed. It has happened to me on another site and it wasn't a very pleasant experience.

Hi!
I don't make a lot on mylot, mostly because I don't focus. People who start discussions and then respond to the responses seem to make the most.
I haven't tried the tasks. They seem a bit risky to me.

Hi!
I have gone into the tasks and I agree with you. Give 'em a wide berth is what I say!

Welcome to mylot. The tasks do help you earn more than must if you responses to discussion or start discussion itself. I have been here since April, and I havent' done one task, as I just didn't think the are necessary to earn, as I am earning just by posting responses mainly, however, I do start discussions from time to time, bu I it is easier to just post responses. It does take effort to get payout every month, just by doing what I am doing, but I have been doing it, so I have been accomplishing what I set out to do, but I am also here hto have fun, which is more important anyway. I hope to remain in mylot for as long as I can. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Thank you for you lovely comment, it is much appreciated. Yes, I have the same mindset as yourself. Earning money is just an added bonus really. I am not here to make thousands, just to keep typing away, helping people. If others think I'm not genuine then that's up to them. I am comfortable in my own skin and have nothing to hide..and neither have you.
I hope to be here a long time too. I'm glad I've got off that Facebook for a bit, this is much more entertaining and people respond to what you say, that doesn't always happen on Facebook in my experience.
