what things you are looking for in a Candidate for Public Office?

few months to go, and elections of the major public officials in our country...and as i watched in the television, many candidates have their own ways to attract people for their votes, i wonder what people would think about to this candidates and what they are looking for in a candidate to rule the country? as for me, i have a few criteria to consider before voting: 1. Competence. I look for meritorious achievements in candidate's private lives (e.g. education, profession), more so if they have been public servants for some time now. A good track record goes a long way. 2. Lifestyle. I'd be wary of those inclined to buying expensive cars, going on real estate and shopping sprees, engaging in gambling and other high-stake entertainment. I'd always wonder where they'd get money to sustain such lifestyle. 3. Family Orientation. The family is the basic unit of society. He who knows how to take care of his own family can be trusted to take care of his bigger family -- his countrymen. And by this, I don't mean multiple families with several mistresses, hehehe. 4. His friends. As the old adage goes, "tell me who your friends are, and I'll tell you who you are". A man is known by the company he keeps, so hanging out with crooks, dubious characters, and other morally-challenged individuals is a big NO! 5. Sincerity. There are just too many phonies politicians nowadays. 6. Integrity. No need to elaborate for this. anyway, this is for the future of our country. it's good to think it over first, say VOTE WISELY. what about you? do you have anything to add?
