so yes there are way to try them on the cellphones but they are not so legal especially deals with calls...on the contrary sms you can send for free using a mobile connection and sending via web and not through mobile carrier...so sites like mjoy or some operators give you the possibility to send sms for free using your browser..or you can use your mail adress to send sms writing as mails the difference is that you must send your mail to a re-mailer tha converts your mail in sms and send it to the number you selected in your message when you composed!!

I am not sure about calls and I think it is only possible in CUG's or other corporate plans. Apart from that I think there is no facility for calls and toher stuffs. But you can avail free SMS service. In my country, SMS are offered free of cost. The limit is 500 free sms per day and after then they charge us. But 500 sms a day is more than a sufficient number. Have a great day and happY mYLOTTING

As far as I know the best way to avoid overage charges is to pay for an unlimited plan. More and more carriers are moving in that direction due to the growing number of people who need literlly unlimited calling. However, if you have a wi-fi - enabled phone, you can log onto the net as long as you can find a powerful enough access point. But, again its unknown if you could make sms that way as sms use a different data stream then wi-fi. SO I'm sorry, but as far as I know there is no way to cheet the system yet.

I'm not sure about calls but on the OLDER pre paid phones once you pay once for texting it doesn't run out when you run out of minutes. They might have fixed this "problem" by now but this is what my friends use to do.

I don't think it is legally possible. If you are going to get that in illegal terms, then I don't think it will stay for more time. With the IME no it is easy to find out your current network provider, the cell info, where you are currently located. Whenever you are getting a new sim, you have to provide a valid id with photo, which makes the identification possible. So, if you are going to get a talktime for free, then you will get caught soon.
