If you're a Windows 7 lover, I hate to say this but since you have asked about windows XP, I had to tell this... To be frank, Windows XP is the MOST stable system ever built by Microsoft... Just go around each corner and you will find in that computer operated by Windows XP... Microsoft did a great job of building the system to its best... So they thought they might get it right by changing the whole coding of the OS... The consequences, Windows Vista... Although Windows Vista goes through lots of beta users but still Microsoft still can't make it a perfect OS, until now! People are fed up of this so they stick with Windows XP... Even after Windows 7 launched, they still do not want to give up their XP... Because they are afraid to see the same thing which happens to them while using Vista... I'm currently using Windows 7 and the first time I use it, I can the major differences... One of them are low RAM consumption and hardware are installed correctly without any hitch... Can you imagine that? Windows 7??? WOW... I can say that Windows 7 is safe to install because it requires less RAM, less space, less hardware support... Moreover, it gives a fresh new look over Vista which I think can attract many people... Enjoy it... :)

well, unless microsoft build up the same confidence when it introduce windows XP, then people will start to upgrade... for my opinion, I think that windows 7 might be the next upgrade... since it doesn't give some big problems like in vista, people will start to notice its features and will give positive feedback... i think you have to try windows 7 out... personal view is needed in order for you to know about the system well...

I've heard a lot of good things about Win7, so I'm hoping it will be as good as XP 0 dare we hope, even better? I'm using Vista right now, so almost anything would be an improvement! I still miss XP, though.

I had XP on the old computer that bit the dust but didn't have a copy to put on the new one, so I'm stuck with Vista until I can afford to get Windows 7.

Time change! It's really fast and there's no doubt about it. It's just like the time when windows 2000 appears and was overwhelmed by windows xp. Someday, windows Xp may be overwhelmed too by the newest operating systems.

If the OS lives up to what microsoft claims, it could be just as good as XP, perhaps even better. However I don't have it and can't afford it. Though if I get some extra money I'll try it out on my old laptop. When I first caught wind of it it was still in beta stages and not quite ready for public release. So it will still have bugs and at first should suffer its share of complaints just like with every other system before it and after it. However, based with the problems from Vista Microsoft is trying to cover their mistakes. Doubtful it will succeed.
