What it takes to get Berth in the Indian Cricket team????

Guys.......... recently i came to know that Amal Mazumdar, a Ranji player became the 3rd highest run getter in Ranji history...... Now he started playing Ranji cricket along with Sachin and Vinod Kambli............. He played for Mumbai for 18yrs a at a stetch.......... and even captained Mumbai and won the Ranji trophy.......... And to be fair he is argubly the best middle order batsman india has produced..........but then also having so many qualities wasn't enough for him to get a single berth in the Indian cricket team................... even though he is from Mumbai also............. So friends tell me what are the conditions for a player to play for India???????????

You mean Amol Muzumdar. First of all, what is his age now? This is a question for the selectors who did not select him at his prime. At that time Sachin and ganguly were the captains. So you should also ask them. Kambli got numerous chances but
Amol Muzumdar did not get a single chance.
It is now that many youngsters are getting chance to play for India. Now the selectors are also good and the captain is also good. Hopefully good player would not be ignored in the future.

u got me wrong.................. i m not telling to take Amol Mazumdar in the team now.......... All i m telling is that if a player like Amal Mazumdar doesn't get a place in the team then ............ what are the criteria of selection???????????
