Earlier, almost every Indian player, if he is a bowler,he would aspire to become a quality spinner. For example, Kumble started as a medium pacer but switched over to leg spin. And Outside of India I like very much Wasim Akaram for his inswinger yorker. I have seen to fall down so many batsmen on his yorker.
