When the recession hit, I was making around $1500 to $2300 a month working at independant contractor jobs, affiliateships, and as a web hostess for an online adult si8te. In addition my bf or 2 1/2 years was making between $210 and 330 a day (in cash paid daily for over 14 years 6 days a week) He has lived in our house for just over 7 years and I have lived here for 2 1/2 years. Our rent has gone from $600 a month, to $700 a month and right b4 the recession hit the homeowner raised the rent to $800 a month because I am living here. My bf has not been working outside of our home since June and I recently gave up my job because the boss was making me nutty. Now I pull in around $800 to $1200 a month, normally procured in dribs and drabs of $50 here $100 or $120 there, it's not much, but much of my income is reliable and recurring in one week, two week, or monthly paymets. The Bf on the other hand is using his 40 years of leatherworking experience to pull in between $500 and $800 a month. If it were not for his mother who keeps sending us money from an inheritance that she got last year, we would be sunk. In fact we are up that fabled creek without the ever so important paddle. Unfortunately they say that the economy and jobs will not begin to rebound until the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012.
With resources drizzling and being choked off, we are not sure from month to month where our groceries will come from. We are surviving, if just barely and the money from his mom has just about run out. What are we supposed to do now? There is little or no work, and nothing that is comparable to either of our pre-recession incomes, of which we saved little.

The economy has been hard on everyone and most do not know what to do. I am trying to fine some work to help suppose the income that my husband gets. Have found a few sites but they are not paying enough to cover but all I can do is keeping looking for more sites or a parttime job.

Personally I think we have all seen the income opportunities not as Good as they were a couple of yrs. ago or what they could be, and it is a shame. But at least you have things you are doing that is bringing in income, which is better than what most unemployed can claim. I think overall we all are experience a little bit of a Financial hardship at times, but when you continue to stay focused and positive in the end, Good things will come from it as well. Just learn to plan for and budget for what your expenses really are, and learn to live within those means knowing tomorrow could be a better day as well.
