In the Philippines, there are a number of korean, taiwan, chino-novelas, aired, often dubbed in Filipino. They are really fun to watch. I think Koreans are genius in these things haha. They are very popular. My personal favorites are Boys Over Flowers, Princess Hours, and Full House. I even have DVD copies of the series subbed in English haha. The writers are really good, plus the setting really helps a lot.

We do not have such a thing in our country, which is the United States. From time to time in the past there have been some martial arts movies that were dubbed over. But I haven't seen these in about 25 years, and they were probably old at that time.

Really? There is no koreanovela and stuff in the US, oh that is so unfortunate. You should try watching some in you tube, they have subtitles. They are really fun to watch hehe.

I remember Winter Sonata being aired on NHK Japan in 2003, I was in Junior High then. It was dubbed in Japanese and was a highest rating foreign drama back then. It was the same year when Meteor Garden was aired in the Philippines. I was on vacation and I enjoyed watching it because it was funnier than what is being aired in my home. But I was sad because I need to go back before the drama reached its ending. If I could compare Japanese dubbed with Tagalog dubbed, I like tagalog better though I understand both.
