The world appears to become so small that we sometimes call our earth as a earth village? But what makes that? Most people believe it is due to our high technology, especially our communication technology.Do you agree with them? And what's your opinion?

Our world is the same in size I guess since the world begun. What has widened are the inventions of technology that bridges the gap between one country to another. It has now become possible to circumnavigate the world in a few days using those technologies. It is easier if a person has the money to spend. But it is difficult for many to appreciate because of the lack of financial capability to explore the world. Have a wonderful day.

Yes,I can't agree you more.Though we can easyly travel around the world in eighty hours rather than eighty days,I doubt not too many pople can afford it.For me,I'm a poor student,I have no money to trvel around my country ,not to say the world.

Dear friend Our point is not that whether we have money to circumnavigate the world or not.Money is important in some aspect. But the most important thing is one's strong will.As the proverb goes where there is a will, there is a way.

Hi. I agree. The world could learn so much about a person, place or things because of the internet and other technological gadgets. Anybody or anything seems to be within reach even if it was many miles away.

yes.when you know all things about a place even when it actually very very big.you think it very very small because you know where things are.you know where to go,what to do,what the things are in the places.with technology all things are connected.when there is very big ocean in between countries you just go to internet and be there in the country on the other side of the world.it is time travel also because when it is day in your place it is night on the other place but you get to be there because of internet.you know where to go what to do and you get there quick.but the world is the same in shape and size but it looks very small because you know it well.

Yes, the world is much smaller in the sense that we are in touch with many more things that are distant, and we can meet and interact with people on the other side of the world almost instantaneously. When you consider that airplanes and airmail are only about a century old, and long distance phoning was only for emergencies when ia was a child, this is truly amazing. I love it that I can talk with and know people in Europe and Asia and Australia just as easily as I do with my friends in my locality or elsewhere in the USA. I've met some wonderful people from other parts of the world, and I feel richer for it. MyLot is a good example of this new "smaller' world. What about all of you? Do you take this for granted or see it as a wonderful thing, a blessing, and almost a miracle?

yup,i agree.with the kinds of useful commuication technology,we get the information of the world instantly and contact with others from all over the world easily. and due to the improvement in conveyance,it is possible for one to travel round world within short time. but on the contrary, sometimes, the distance between hearts becomes bigger.

The physical size has not changed, of course, but the number of people you can interact with has grown astronomically, and distance is no obstacle. You can talk with someone in China or Turkey as quickly and easily as with someone two houses away from you. It is, overall, a very good thing, but we have lost some things in the process. For example, you may spend most of your day talking with that witty person in China or Turkey, and yet never speak to your next-door neighbor. We can see the Great Wall and the Pyramids of Egypt without ever leaving the house, but that means there isn't much out there to explore. You can't even get lost anymore. GPS will locate you, no matter where you are.
