Philippines

Wow, more problems to completely complicate the situation. there was break news that some where in Agusan Del Sur that one hundred twenty five people including teachers and students where taken HOSTAGE by a known Perez group. I don't know the demands of these people. But i do think of this, it's a one hell of a distraction, and it might give her a reason to expand Martial Law in that particular area. besides how can these people take 125 when those areas are militarized. oh, yeah despite of that they were eighteen (18) released and (50) fifty that escaped. this is really bother some. Where are the Soldiers, Where are the Cops, SLeeping?

when i heard about this in the news report on tv, that is also my initial reaction. the president might think and consider expanding the martial law in that area. and that is pretty scary. as if she can do that, she might think of expanding it to other areas and might even get national.

hello Letran, Once again dear brother. Good that you have noticed all of these things. Can't you feel something fishy...very rotten fish,meat...fart the worst for this system(aw shuckzzz) The simultaneous crime, and yah...how could they ever held too much number of people...where are the military/authorities? Are they hiding?...or...what?(hmnnn) Is this another strategy to declare Martial Law to that particular place?...and then what's next? Another attack from another place, and another declaration of Martial Law...and so on and forth? And...the for the finale...there is no election by 2010 What do you think bro?

yah right jaiho2009!. other than that, i also see a quick move by the admin so as to turn the issues to the hostages rather than continue monitoring on the ampatuans. it has always been their strategy.

Hello there Jaiho, Well, the timing couldn’t be better since this kidnapping is also located in Mindanao, these people are looking for excuse not to get too much involved with everything that they will start with another problem. This administration, if it’s not stage plot then it’s something that they just lack control of. Many people will get pissed for sure if there’s no election coming, and am one of them.

Yeah this is a big distraction to the efforts being made in the Maguindanao areas. I do hope that this problem would be addressed without the need to expand the Martial Law declaration to that area. I really think that Mindanao is really a very lawless place and police and military are not able to perform their jobs quite well as they cannot stop these armed groups from doing their thing almost without any resistance from them.

Good thing that the hostage taking got an early resolution yesterday. I really think that civilians that were armed before should now be disarmed in Mindanao. It seems that the CVO's purpose there is not serving its purpose as it becomes more complicated now that they are forming groups of their own to protect their own interest and not the interest of the civilian populace.

Hello Rsa101, Well, not much on the other parts of Mindanao because we do have some sort of areas where there ain’t much violence, except to those areas which are completely Muslim or Tribal Dominated areas, Like Maguindanao. And besides Mindanao is so big that it should it can be potential for additional economic, although Mindanao is one of the big Island where we get supplies and resources, the future next government should focus on either ending the conflict or arrange another set of talks.

another great move by the government! remember how senator trillanes III revealed this issues? unending war in mindanao because the government doesn't want to end it up. more young soldiers sacrificed their lives to a war that doesn't seem to have a clear explanation on what they are fighting for. remember how those abu sayaff were cornered by the soldiers but amazingly all of them escaped! how about the visiting forces agreement wherein visitors doesn't seem to be going back home anymore huh! it's all part of the governments strategy. of course for the one seated to stay with the power. our soldiers are always ready for any tasks. they were trained for everything! but its the one seated who will always have the last say. the order comes from there. tsk2 poor juan dela cruz.

Hello Drake, I am glad that you are also aware of this disturbing issue. Yeah, those Guys from the US army doesn’t seem that they are here for a long vacation or something. My view there is that it’s gonna get worse because of their sole presence in the region. I am not surprise if there’s going to another case of Filipina Being raped by an American Soldier. Thank to us Juan dela Cruz will always be poor

Dude! they are already there! I think they are also behind that kidnapping things, don't look for them cause their are already there. Think of it this way, many rebellions, many violence and many blood is equal to "MARTIAL LAW" and this is equal to "PROCESS OF CHARTER CHANGE" and then there it goes! POWER

Hello rjvb, too bad they did that in the morning. there's already violence already done by the Terrorist groups and the REBELS Such as MILF,NPA and ABUSAYAFF. these are all rebels and still doing violence amids the procedure of crap-talks in Mindanao. why can't they declare Martial law there in the first place. why just now? after killing only 57 people, where the rebels more than 57 in the last decade. this is playing good plot by the Arroyo admnistration.

that's really a bad news. honestly, I cannot say if this is just a big set up plan or it's really getting worse for apeople out there. I just hope that people that has power in our country won't take advantage. Enough is enough. Don't be abusive anymore with their power. Many innocent lives are getting involve and lost

Hello there agues, People in POWER are already taking advantage of the situation. It’s just that the ampatuans are the ones ended being a sacrificial Lamb for the Administrations next Big step on the congress to change the constitution. So far it was mentioned that they have only acquired 30% of the fire arms being confiscated by the Military, not to mention it was their fault and they sold these to powerful political clans.

our country is just turning like a very destabilize country, like a civil war is brewing if this kind of problems continue. i feel like we are some kind of Iraq though not that bad yet.

11 Dec 09
Hello hotsummer, NO, I don’t think it’s the same as Iraq because it’s only a grabbing of Political power in a single region. What happen in Iraq was because of the President George bush decision to invade at the same time destabilize it and it’s regions. It is clear at that time that they were really after the oil and there was no Weapons of Mass Destruction that was accused them to have one. I believe this situation will get better soon.

I really doubt they're not that neglect with it comes to their duties, otherwise it can be considered embarassing to the people and to the world. they got caught off guard and mis-interpret by the children because they thought they were from the military or from the cafgu due to problem there in mindanao.

Hello Jean, How are you, it’s been a while there, haven’t chat with you in ages. Well, the killing of 57 people and the recent kidnappings of 125 people is already known as the most embarrassing moments in our recent times, most specially those who are in the Government. They knew what might happen and they ignored it eventually and now we see the mess around us.

i hope all them have been released already. for me, this is just a distraction for them to spread wide the Martial Law rule in the country. don't let the ML spread across that part of the country, pressure the military to end and solve the problem a lot more quickly than expected.

Hello nobody4me, I believe that the Might of Senate and Congress are doing everything they can to resolve this issue and so far they are nailing the cabinet for the declaration being so insufficient when it comes to it’s integrity and substance that made the President declared Martial Law. One of the Senators can’t even get a straight answer from the judge that actually approved this matter.

Not sure how to respond on the situation regarding their agenda, but the concern there is only for those innocent teachers and children who involved in this mess with the group. negotiations should be swift and no military operation should be conducted for the safety of the hostages, any more deaths can be held the government officials accountable in these situations. i feel there was negligence but i am sure they are doing everything they can to release them with out harm.

Hello there, Sometimes I think whether what they’re doing is truly enough or not. I agree that children should be released immediately because they have already developed fear among the men who has fire arms and this recent hostage taking proves it. Too bad the hostage takers weren’t able to keep them all.
