WooHoo. Last Saturday I went to the local kids Christmas tree. Santa comes in the fire truck and hands out presents to all the local kids...it's a wonderful night. The local Fishing Club sells hot dogs, meat and gravy rolls and drinks and they have raffles with prizes of chooks, ham , pork and cases of coke. I purchased 6 bucks worth of tickets all up and won the first raffle of the night...a frozen chicken and a carton of 18 cans of coke. What was the last thing you won or someone close to you won? There's a $40,000,000 Lotto prize up for grabs this week...wish I could win that...I'd come visit you ALL!

You are definitely on my list Lakota. I would love to visit with you and meet your family and see where you live. Hatley...that's where the phrase...easy come, easy go, comes into play. At least your groceries were free.

I love the idea of the fishing club doing the meaty things. Nothing fishy about them then! I can't remember the lst time that I won anything. But can I come and rub myself against you. It will be messy but fun!

The fishing club is very active in our tiny community. They raise money for local things as well as supporting helicopter ambulances and stuff like that. It might be a bit expensive for you to come rub against me...how about, when I cook the chook, I'll send you a piece in the post and you can rub on that...wing or drumstick??
@p1kef1sh (45681)

Drumstick to eat. Wing to rub! LOL.

I am glad that you did win something. You at least won enough to pay for your tickets. I won a gift cert. for the little deli that I live next door at a fundraiser for the school.

That's a good idea. My prize is prolly worth about $25. I don't drink Coke and neither do the family so I'm thinking of offering the Coke to the cafe here in exchange for cash.

That's a good idea. How do you carry one of those home and keep it intact? It's pretty big. I think it would have to do me 3 meals...that's excellent value in any case.

Do they? How clever? I might think about getting me one of those. I've had one once before but I remember now, I didn't like the bread part...it tasted weird.

Wow...Congrats....WooHoo.... WTG...Thats Great... Its always nice to win. I won 3700 pennies at the casino, on Thanksgiving when I went with my mom. That was $37 dollars, I then won another $15 worth of pennies, but then that was after I had already spent $40 so I figure I broke even, it was a good day. Good luck on winning te big bucks, if you do that you will have enough money to sponser a Mylot Reunion, you can pick a spot and fly us all out to meet. Sounds like a plan to me.

That definitely sounds like a plan...wouldn't it be great?? Imagine how much fun we'd have. Congratulations on your win too Polly dear. My ex and I used to go to the pub on Friday nights on the way home from work. We would play the pokies and sometimes we would win enough for dinner or a nice bottle of something to have for the weekend It was something to look forward to and a great way to start the weekend...unless I had to work next day. :(

Wow, Congratulations! It looks like you had a lot of fun. Also the idea of raffling off food is a good one. Would it not be nice to win the big jackpot? What would you do? Here the Lotto 649 jackpot is $ 15 000,000 this week. Last week I worked as a volunteer at the local food bank. It was volunteer appreciation week and we were each given a raffle ticket. I won a $ 25 gift certificate for fast food, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut or Kentucky Fried Chicken. Unfortunately I cannot eat any of that food but since I am on a limited income it will make a nice Christmas gift for a young man who helps me a lot and he eats food from those places.

Congrats to you too. That is a good win and I'm sure your young helper will be thrilled with his gift. $25 is a LOT of fast food.

Hey MsTickle! Congratulations on your winnings! I've never won anything in my whole life! So I think that is just great that you won something! I'm sure you would have preferred to win the big money, but I would be grateful for whatever I won, just because I won something! I'm sure you can make use of your winning the chicken and coke! I know I sure could! I hope that if you buy more tickets that you do win the next big prize! Good luck to you!

Hi MsTickle, thanks to an earlier discussion I know what a chook is. You won't be getting any chucky eggs though from it as it's frozen. I haven't won anything since my son was a baby but then I entered some competions and won a few for baby supplies, the best one was a changing table. I never enter any anymore.

Hatley it's not English my dear, Cloud had to explain this Australianism to me the other day, it's a chicken, so they eat roast chook. But never heard of a chucky egg.

Ya gotta enter to win. Winning is good. They are chooky eggs but that is rarely used...eggs are eggs. There are duck eggs and goose eggs and emu eggs and easter eggs but not chooky eggs unless maybe you are trying to get a baby to eat up his chooky egg.
