Pay It Forward

Ok just saw a discussion that got me thinking about paying it forward and good things people do everyday with out rewards of any type and all they ask is for people to return the favor to someone else in need sometime. I helped a woman yesterday who had locked her keys in the car and was not able to unlock or get help with it. I tried without getting it with a coat hanger but did find someone who did that for a living that was cheap and had them come and take care of her. All it cost me was time and energy which I have both of. All I ask anyone I help is to help someone else in need down the road of life. Like the movie "Pay it Forward". Good movie and good idea for us to live by. Let's see how many of you can tell your stories of paying it forward and how much this touches there lives when they help someone out. What is your "pay it Forward Story"?

about twenty so years ago my family had no food and a neighbor was kind enough to loan us a loaf of bread and can of meat from comodities. then gave me a ride also to the salvation army here that gives food to the hungry. ever since i have given food to anyone that i know has none and have donated food into the food bins in grocery stores for the hungry and often given to the salvation army.

It is a wonderful thing to do something kind for someone else. However, I wouldn't hang my hat on the pay it forward concept. First, the concept of good coming back to you will become the motivation for doing the good in the first place. Secondly, it won't be long before those expectations are crushed. djbtol

It was not a act of kindness but a act of morals and values. I started a discussion about this also so I will short hand. The other day my friend and I went into this little shop and I purchased a few items. I was talking to the cashier also the store owner and we got caught up in our conversation. I took my items out to the car and when we got to the stoplight I realized I had not paid. We turned the car around so I could pay. The owner even questioned me saying Are you sure you did not pay. I said yes and paid her what I owed. It was important to me. You know my ex husband done alot of people wrong in the town I used to live. He was always cheating someone out of someone. But you know you can go to that town now and let them know who I am and I do not believe there is one person that could say anything bad about me in that way. Your name is the only thing you got in this world. Keep it clean and honest. People may forget your face but they will always remember your name when it comes to bad.

Whew.. I admire you for doing that.. Well the movie pay it forward has avery good lesson. It's all about doing good things to other people without asking them to pay it back to you but to pay it forward by doing good things to another three people. It is imposible to happen. But it will start happening now if we try to do it..

Hi. I admire you for the good deed. I have personally experienced that "pay it forward" principle early in my life. My parents could not afford to pay for my college education. A family from our town sponsored a college tuition, food and lodging. When I finally graduated, I asked them how I could ever repay them for the kind deed. They asked me to "pay it forward." They told me to support the education of my younger brother and sisters the way they did it to me. My younger brother and sister were already able to graduate in college because of my financial and moral support. I am still financing the education of my three younger sisters. Yes, I am the eldest and I have five siblings. I am very happy with my achievement so far. I hope that I could also successfully help my three other sisters to finish their college education. I am lucky to have a husband who understands my continuous support for the education of my younger siblings.

I applaud you for this. We need more people like you! God bless. Well this is a little something I did. I am on a few online writing sites. I write articles as well as poetry. A number of poet friends of mine, on those sites felt highly discouraged, as they were not getting as many views. They were not too bothered about the money, its just the appreciation that we all look for as writers. I had seen some amazing talents go away as they felt demoralized. I have now setup a 'poetry lovers club'. This is where poets and poetry lovers from 2 different sites support each other. A common passion brings them together and I feel blessed that I could help.
