(oa) is a chronic condition it is also known as degeneative arthritis as it is related to the ageing process. it is caused by breakdown of cartilage a tough but flexible tissue that covers the ends of the bones of the joints. Osteoarthritis commonly affects the large weight bearing joints such as the hips and knees Repetitive use of the worn joints over the years can cause loss of the cartilge cushion causing friction between the bones leading to pain swelling and limitation of joint mobility.
