whatcha say?

so ive seen alot of people are slating Jason Derulo's single Whatcha Say, despite it being high in the r&b charts, a lot of the critics are Imogen Heap fans, i personally love both songs, Whatcha Say and hide and seek, what about you? also was wondering why there are two versions of this song out at the same time, the acoustic version of Whatcha Say isn't all that different, should it really be out now?

Oh man, I discovered MyLot too late! A few months after this post was made, I became a huge Imogen Heap fan ... and a huge Jason Derulo fan the next day! I get that they are very different genres, Imogen being light pop/ambient, Derulo being mainstream pop, but they both have a charm to it! And you didn't even bring up DJ Wich's 2008 hit What We Need, which uses a similar Imogen hook; DJ Wich uses the exact part of that chorus that Derulo doesn't use.
