Hi misssweety - I was in that situation a few years back. I was a single mom of one, working full time and going to school full time. You have to keep in mind, as busy as you may be now, it won't last forever. For right now while your life is so busy, you should try a simple, easy look that you're comfortable with. An easy hairstyle, light make-up and comfortable clothes. You can change to something advanced at a later date when you'll have more time. Another suggestion, keep a calendar available. Make a schedule for yourself and kids. You can start with marking off an hour a week, and take a walk with your kids. It's a great way to relax and talk about anything, and hopefully you'll find it more refreshing than a spa. Every mom needs a little 'girl' time, I think. Choose a day on your calendar, at least a few weeks in advance, and set some time to go for a manicure, or whatever you would like to do. Plan in advance what to do with your kids and for how long. Treat your day as a reward to yourself. This may seem like to much work, but once you start and get your family involved in a routine, it really works well. I'm now married, have two sons and two step-daughters, all live with us full time. Our calendar has become a habit, and it keeps thigs in order, most of the time. Godd luck.

Spas and manicures are not as important as eating healthy and that is not so hard. After all, when you have children you have to give them decent food. I always ate the same as everyone else and when the kids were young snack were out of the question. It was a good breakfast, a good lunch, a glass of milk at 4 o´clock and dinner. All was homemade as it´s better and less expensive. I did bigger batches sometimes. Rice keeps for a long time at the fridge. So I made a big pot. Legumes can be frozen and then thawed. The same thing can be done with all kinds of tomato based sauces for spaguetti. With kids around I didn´t need to do extra excersise. They kept me active enough. Take care!

I'm just a college student but with so much studying and also holding down a job its not that hard to let yourself go. The best way to still "look pretty" is to figure out a way to do your make up, hair, and clothing is the simplest way possible. For me I spend 5 minutes max on makeup so there are ways of doing it without caking everything on your face. And food wise its best to have fruits and vegetables because they're easy to fix and are good for you. Plus for me I just trying to walk as much as possible even if that means parking farther away or taking a bus to class instead of driving so I have to walk longer distances. Just think about how you can involve your family in being healthy because then it'll be easier for you.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I would like to eat healthy as well all the time but I have to cook for my family and then it's a little bit difficult...I do full time job and part time studies and doing cooking and shopping every evening. I try to spend some time for me as well but sometimes I find a little bit difficult to concentrate on myself when I have to concentrate on so many things...Have a great day!!!
